Sarah Palin Attacks: Fear and Loathing in the MSM
DBKP | September 3, 2008 | Mondoreb

"McCain and Palin are currently close in the polls, but they face an even tougher job of selling this combination than does the history-shattering ticket of Obama-Biden."
--John Mashek, US News & World Report

John McCain and Sarah Palin

USN&WR's John Mashek is a MSM Meme Poster Child

What time is it again, guys?

It's Beat-on-the-Girl Time!--at least in the Mainstream Media.

The MSM spent much of the Democrat primary season shilling for Barack Obama, their 'Chosen One' candidate. In the process, the MSM, in an about-face from their 1990s' coverage, published a stream of unflattering attacks on the Clintons in general, and Hillary Clinton, in particular.

The MSM "coverage" of the Democrat primary tussle at times resembled a journalistic "Whack-a-Mole" game--with Hillary the target of hundreds of MSM mallets. Big Media is substituting Palin for Clinton and the beat goes on.

NOW, the MSM thinks that Hillary Clinton supporters won't notice they're using much the same tactics against Sarah Palin, John McCain's VP pick. Either that, or Big Media figures that Hillary supporters will quit making a fuss and get in line, since Palin carries the "Scarlet 'R'" behind her name.

US News & World Report's John Mashek, [Sarah Palin and John McCain's Cynical Game] sums up much of the MSM's loathing/fear of Sarah Palin by stating, "It's a cheap political ploy—and any voters who fall for it deserve what they get."

As a bonus, Mashek gets in a dig at the intelligence of women who supported Hillary Clinton ("If Democratic women upset about Clinton's absence from the ticket fall for this transparent appeal to their angry instincts, McCain is entitled to them.")

Whoever wrote, "Politics makes strange bedfellows" was right: the MSM thinks that Hillary supporters won't notice the similarities between their "Whack-a-Mole" 'coverage' of Hillary and now, Sarah Palin.

Yep. I was going to say the media isn’t treating Palin and differently than they did Clinton.

The outright sexism of the left ought to alarm every woman who has held a job and carried a baby on their hip. The viciousness of the attacks on Gov Palin as if there is NO WAY she could be qualified to be VP because, well, she is WOMAN, a mother, pro-life, pro-gun, and here 17 year old daughter got pregnant. Notice that the LSM hasn’t mentioned a word about how Obama’s own mother was 17, pregnant with him, and unmarried. If it disqualifies Sarah, it should disqualify Obama.

Excellent point!

Others have made it here also, but this reminds me to wrap it into something in the next 24.

Thanks!

It’s not the “scarlet ‘R’” that’s causing the attacks,

it’s the bright golden cross that is “worn”, evident by how she lives.

If the MSM went after the the ‘Edwards Affair’ last winter with 10% of their effort against Gov. Palin, Hillary would be the nominee.

Exactly!

I’ve got a story coming up on a MSM guy who called me a “conspiracy theorist” for berating the MSM non-coverage of Edwards (and him).

His latest? Bristol Palin is “fair game” and besides—We [the MSM] DID TOO cover Edwards!

All of late July and 20 days in August, after the fact.

Thanx for the comments, everyone!

I don't think it's even close.

Campbell Brown, The Obama Loving CNN anchor who led hit pieces on Governor Palin, has a Father who spent time in Federal Prison.

Brown’s Father Jim, was a former Democratic Louisiana State Senator who was indicted for lying to the FBI and Fraud. This all according to her Wikipedia page.

Hypocrite.

Many people have felt there is something really wrong with Campbell Brown’s demeanor.

I just bought a new domain name an hour ago and have started working on a database to track these idiots and their lies. It'll take a little while to get the infrastructure in place but you can submit candidates to my new e-mail account now. editor@hypocritelibs.com

John Mashek will be on the list.

This could be big trouble. On Aug 17, Palin`s pastor invited a David Brickner to speak at Palin`s church. In Brickners talk, he said Israel is to blame for terrorist attacks against it. He says the attacks (he specifically mentions the Palestinian driving a bulldozer into a crowd of Israeli`s)are God`s judgemennt against Israeli`s for not accepting Jesus.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13098.html

An audio of Brickners talk is posted here;

http://wasillabible.org/sermons.htm

The claim is that Palin was there when Brickber talked. Damn it! This is the last thing she needs after Republicans have ripped Obama for attending Wrights church.

20 years of Wright vs 1 Sunday sermon?

No problem. Go ahead and compare them. I already have, and I know who comes out ahead.

Well, the Palins attending one sermon from a visiting pastor, not of their choosing is not even remotely close to the Obama’s CHOOSING to spend 20+ years attending the racist, anti-American Wrights sermons. Wright even presided over the Obama wedding. They specifically sought out writh, as opposed to the Palins happening to be at a church where this guy visited.

Not even CLOSE.

I suspect syphillis induced dementia.

“20 years of Wright vs 1 Sunday sermon?

I realize that and know it`s not the same. But we know what the msm will do with it, don`t we?

Well, I think one church service with a guest speaker is a bit different than 20 years in the pew with the same guy.

Just my opinion.
