Do you have (or have you had) a teenage daughter?
If she has condoms in her purse the only way you know she uses them is to watch, although they are not fool proof.
If she has a prescription for birth control pills the only way to make sure she is taking them is to watch. But they aren't fool proof either are they?
Tell me EXACTLY how the Palins were to "make sure" she was on birth control. Tell me what they did not do right. How do you know she wasn't on birth control?

You do make a solid point. People did jump all-over Spears for a similar situation.
As another Freeper said, Palin wants to kill taxes and raise babies, and Obam wants to raise taxes and kill babies.

People don’t vote for VP candidates and they also don’t vote for their daughters.... The girl is 17, pregnant and marrying the father. How many children in the history of the United States have been produced under the same circumstances?
So many that you can’t count them, but hey, at least she knows who the dad is and she’s marrying him.
Besides, this just goes to show that Palin and her family are a heck of lot more normal than any of the other candidates, because she has real problems that families have to deal with on a daily basis.
It makes her more common and therefor, more appealing.

OMG! Well, this might please pro-life social conservatives, but I expect many Evangelicals won’t be voting for McCain.
Obviously, McCain’s people did a lousy job of vetting Palin. This will probably cost him big time.
