Tell me again how two teenagers with less than a high school education are going to support a baby without our tax dollars?
With the help of immediate and extended family duh. They aren’t getting kicked out onto the street.
In Alaska's economy, a degree is less important for providing than in the lower 48. From what I understand, Alaska is a state where someone can make more money as an uneducated fur trapper than a lot of people can with a college diploma.
Not all teen mothers get welfare benefits. My oldest daughter got pregnant as a teen, and we supported her and my grandson. My daughter has never received any taxpayer benefits what-so-ever. We not only supported her and the baby, we have been helping her go to nursing school so she will be able to support herself and her son. I am certain that the Palin’s have more money than we do, and I would assume they will pay to support their daughter and grandchild and they won’t be on welfare.
In the case of Bristol Palin and her future husband? The way it generally happened before there was such a thing as welfare, the the way it STILL happens outside the welfare culture: the grandparents (on both sides) support the new parents until the father is in a better position to support his family
I've heard that fishing pays well in Alaska.

This baby can actually be born and raised without our tax dollars. It happens all the time.
I imagine mom and dad will support them until they are on their feet.
RE: “Tell me again how two teenagers with less than a high school education are going to support a baby without our tax dollars?”
I would imagine that with supportive and encouraging parents, like the Palins, the baby’s young parents will have the opportunity to complete their educations and so on.
These are not welfare family teens we are talking about here. I’ve known numerous people, high income, so called “good” people, whose kids ended up in this situation, and the grandparents to-be were supportive in every way; there need be no taking of your tax dollars to support the babies. Geesh.
If my mother were still alive, I'd give you her phone number and you could call and ask her the same question. Only leave out the dad part and welfare, both were non-existant in the '50s...............as were jobs in northern Michigan.
I don’t think you have to worry about your tax dollars, I am sure the families will help them until they can handle it themselves.
