Obama's 'civilian national security force'
Worldnetdaily ^ | July 15, 2008 | Joseph Farah

With all the reporters covering the major presidential candidates, it amazes me no one ever seems to ask the right questions.

For several days now, WND has been hounding Barack Obama's campaign about a statement he made July 2 in Colorado Springs – a statement that blew my mind, one that has had me scratching my head ever since.

In talking about his plans to double the size of the Peace Corps and nearly quadruple the size of AmeriCorps and the size of the nation's military services, he made this rather shocking (and chilling) pledge: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

Now, since I've never heard anyone inside or out of government use the phrase "civilian national security force" before, I was more than a little curious about what he has in mind.

Is it possible I am the only journalist in America who sought clarification on this campaign promise?

What does it mean?

If the “carrot” of taxpayer-supported higher education fails, there is always the “stick”: conscription. It worked for other dictators. What will be amusing is to watch those upper class liberals who would foam at the mouth at having their precious children wearing military camo and living in barracks praise any conscription program for the riff raff. Any conscription plan would find exemptions for the children of the politically favored. With the exception of the World War II draft, conscription plans have allowed for exemptions for the wealthy, through either paying for a substitute (Civil War) or going to college (Korea, Cold War, Vietnam).

Clinton’s “100,00 new cops” initiative was an empty promise. Less than 25% of that lame attempt to direct attention away from himself actually went into effect.

The Dept of HS was no surprise, given that Bush is a globalist fruitcake; however, to say that funding for SWAT units is akin to moving towards a national police force is a non-starter. The police have had units that were more heavily armed long before SWAT ever came into existence.

Obamessiah’s “national police force” is right out the Communism 101 handbook, and would be a way to override Posse Comitatus.

Thanks. I was trying to think of them; The ‘New Black Panther Party’ with their armed security force. But kept coming up with Calypso Louie and his goons. So I went with the SA.

"though I suspect he hasn't a clue what he's talking about. "

This is probably more true than we realize. It was some flowery statement that sounded good to his handlers so they threw it in the speech.

It is not the SWAT units per se, but the Federal funding for their equipment and trading, that is an incremental step towards nationalization. There have been “riot squads” on police forces for a very long time, and precursors to SWAT units had varying names, including tactical patrol forces or emergency service units.

“”We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.””

These will quickly transmogrify into the “Gun Recovery Units” described in “The Turner Diaries”.....

The stick will not be necessary. The kind of people who Obama wants will be more than happy to be part of his "civilian national security force". They will fill the quotas for personnel immediately with all the "right people"

Visualize college chapters of "Code Pink", ACORN, etc given uniforms, weapons, and federal blessing to hunt down "threats to this nation's Democracy" (as the Left would classify FReepers and others of our ilk)

Obama's National "Protective Squadron"

If Obama were to get elected, and this idea springs about...

It’s time

Remember the Polish and the Jews. Do not let it happen again.

Don’t count on it. Security Force... should ring a different bell than Social/Street workers. It may begin with benign social do-goody-goodism but feigned benevolence is always part of an evolving totalitarianism.

“With all the reporters covering the major presidential candidates, it amazes me no one ever seems to ask the right questions.”

Why would they ask a question that might get them fired by their Democrat editors and publishers?

“double the size of the Peace Corps and nearly quadruple the size of AmeriCorps”

These organizations have been around for decades, yet the liberals are still whining about poverty. What have these organizations accomplished?

"We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

He wants the taxpayers to fund and arm the panthers, or some such group of thugs.
