With all the reporters covering the major presidential candidates, it amazes me no one ever seems to ask the right questions.
For several days now, WND has been hounding Barack Obama's campaign about a statement he made July 2 in Colorado Springs a statement that blew my mind, one that has had me scratching my head ever since.
In talking about his plans to double the size of the Peace Corps and nearly quadruple the size of AmeriCorps and the size of the nation's military services, he made this rather shocking (and chilling) pledge: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
Now, since I've never heard anyone inside or out of government use the phrase "civilian national security force" before, I was more than a little curious about what he has in mind.
Is it possible I am the only journalist in America who sought clarification on this campaign promise?
What does it mean?

What it means risks invoking the dreaded “N” word. No, not that one; the one with the lightening bolt insignias on the collars.
Our news media won’t ask. They seem to be as bought and paid for as any propaganda arm.
Sounds like Chavez and his civilian Territorial Guards Militia. Obama’s going to need protection.
What does it mean? “Nation of Islam”...
It means you're either going to start thinking the right way or you're going to go someplace where you will be taught to.
Brown shirts. His private army, including kids. Dems will decide it’s just another Saturday morning activity for the little ones, like soccer.
Yes, like the NightWatch - but with the manpower of the KGB/OGPU and with enough funding to build its own Aircraft carriers and strategic missile launchers.
And no-one in the media bats an eyelid.
Civilian National Security Force = Schutzstaffel (SS) (Protective Squadron)
We do have a civilian national security force already. It’s called the militia. I think the term they use in the government is the reserve militia. If Obama means to spend more money for training the reserve militia such as range time then I’m all for it... : )
Somehow I doubt thats what he means though...
Brownshirts.
But groups like the Minute Men, with their lawn chairs, cell phones and binoculars are racist vigilantes.
Hey, if they give me an M4 and a couple of cases of ammo I’ll be a “faithfull” member. /S
The man’s an outright Nazi, and he has an entire generation of morons and nincompoops educated by the NEA ready and anxious to man the ovens and organize the lynch mobs.
With some "old school" exceptions, liberals are not friends of individual freedom, except for the areas of sexual license, public vulgarity, and narcotics use. We can expect nothing but regulations, controls, and suppression of traditional values and opposition speech under someone like Barack Obama. But to be frank, a great number of so-called conservatives, including some on FR, are worshipers of big government, as long as it is favoring their pet projects.
How do we step around “posse comitatus”? This is probably how.
He’s not thinking of the Minutemen, he’s got the SS or the OGPU in mind.
If he realizes he was a member of the Illinois militia, he'll be running ads about his military service.
Personally I think Obama's talking about something else, perhaps there's a thought about nationalizing police forces in the back of his mind, though I suspect he hasn't a clue what he's talking about.
“The mans an outright Nazi, and he has an entire generation of morons and nincompoops educated by the NEA ready and anxious to man the ovens and organize the lynch mobs.”
I couldn’t agree more.
I thought Hillary was dangerous, this guy is getting scarier by the day.
