Thanks.
So, ping to “All;” still works?
I was just told on another thread that it had been turned off.
I don’t have a ping list.
All means my post is for “all.”
Thank you once again.

“Jihad Detainees Reveal Mass Recruitment Via Internet”
Written by The Media Line Staff
Published Wednesday, July 02, 2008
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Confessions of several detainees in Saudi Arabia are providing an indication of the extant Jihadi websites are impacting on potential Al-Qaida recruits.
Detained terror suspects explained in televised interviews broadcast on Saudi television on Tuesday how Al-Qaida was using the Internet as a tool to recruit new members and propagate radical ideology.
Detainees said they were inspired by Jihadi films and statements by Al-Qaida chief Osama Bin Laden and other leading Jihad figures, which were posted on the Internet.
The interviewees included the Egyptian Abu Azzam Al-Ansari, who is editor of the online Sada Al-Jihad (Jihad Echo) magazine, and Um Usama, editor of the Al-Khansa magazine.
Those interviewed said the Internet was their preferred means of recruiting people and propagating their ideas, because it provided relative security, especially since none of the participants in the forums know each others identities.
Detained Al-Qaida suspects have admitted to joining the organization after following news of the fighters in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The televised reports said these radical websites promised their readers they would reach paradise if they participated in holy war, propaganda and training. The websites base their legitimacy on fatwas or religious decrees of well-known religious figures in order to persuade youngsters to join their ranks.”
And thanks.
Right.
It’s just that some poster told me on another thread that “All;” doesn’t work any more. Was turned off.
Seems to me it works on this thread, right?

ICE, Wichita PD arrest 22 local-area gang members, associates
Joint operation was part of ICE’s “Operation Community Shield”
WICHITA, Kan. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Wichita Police Department today announced the arrest of 22 transnational gang members and their associates during this latest joint local effort of an ongoing national ICE program called “Operation Community Shield.”
Each of the 22 individuals was arrested for their membership, participation or association with violent street gangs. Members or associates of four street gangs were arrested during this operation, including: Vato Loco Boys, Sureno 13, Players for Life, and North Side Gangsters.
Nine gang members were arrested during the planning phase of the operation based on outstanding state arrest warrants, which included: burglary, theft, assault, drive-by shootings, weapons violations, and various misdemeanor charges. They are currently in state custody awaiting disposition on their criminal charges. ICE placed detainers on all nine gang members so that if they’re released from state custody for any reason, they’ll be transferred to ICE.
The other 13 gang members are illegal aliens who were arrested during the one-day culmination of the Community Shield operation on Tuesday. All 13 are currently in ICE custody pending return to their countries of origin. Three juvenile gang member brothers with serious juvenile criminal histories were arrested with their mother during this operation; they will all be voluntarily returned to Mexico.
All those arrested are from Mexico. Following any judicial proceedings and sentences, all will be returned to Mexico.
“ICE has unique immigration and customs law enforcement authorities which complement the authorities of our federal, state and local partners,” said Antonio Farias, resident agent in charge of the ICE Office of Investigations in Wichita. “Together, we can effectively remove dangerous gang members and their associates from the streets to make our communities safer. We look forward to working with Wichita PD to accomplish our common goal of combating crime.”
“This operation reflects the Wichita Police Department’s philosophy of working with other law enforcement agencies, such as ICE, to remove violent gang members from our community,” said Wichita Police Chief Norman D. Williams. “The Wichita Police Department will continue to aggressively address gang violence to make Wichita a safe and secure community.”
About Operation Community Shield
Operation Community Shield is a national law enforcement initiative that partners ICE with other federal, state and local law enforcement, combining resources, authorities and expertise in an effort to target members of violent street gangs. Since ICE began Operation Community Shield in February 2005, more than 8,000 gang members belonging to more than 700 different gangs have been arrested. More information on Operation Community Shield is available at: www.ice.gov.
Under this initiative, ICE works to:
Identify violent gangs and develop intelligence on their members, associates and organizations.
Deter, disrupt and dismantle gang operations by tracing and seizing their cash, weapons and other assets
Criminally prosecute or remove gang members from the United States.
Partner with other law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal level - both in the United States and abroad - to develop a “force multiplier” effect in investigations and other law enforcement actions against gangs.
Conduct outreach efforts to boost public awareness about the fight against violent gangs.
The public is encouraged to report suspicious activity by calling ICE’s toll-free hotline at: 1-866-347-2423. This hotline is staffed around the clock.

WARDEN MESSAGE: PLANNED DEMOSTRATIONS IN TBILISI
U.S. Embassy Tbilisi issued the following Warden Message July 2, 2008:
The media have reported a series of explosions near and in the separatist region of Abkhazia over the past several days. Abkhaz de facto authorities declared a state of emergency in the region that may last for some time and reportedly closed the administrative boundary between Georgia and the separatist-controlled region on July 1. Due to these events, we would like to reiterate that the U.S. Embassy advises Americans not to travel to the separatist-controlled regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Any American citizens currently in the separatist-controlled regions, regardless of purpose, should register with the U.S. Embassy either through the State Department website at the website listed in the message below or by visiting the Consular Section from 2-5 pm on business days for American Citizens Services. The U.S. Embassy recommends that Americans regularly monitor warden messages on the Embassy web site for the latest information on the security situation throughout Georgia.
American citizens should stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times. American citizens in Tbilisi may also tune in to Radio Syndicati at FM 104.3 or throughout Georgia at Radio Green Wave at FM 107.4 for updated US Embassy warden message information for US citizens.
For the latest security information, Americans living and traveling abroad should regularly monitor the Departments Bureau of Consular Affairs Internet web site at http://travel.state.gov, where the current Worldwide Caution, Travel Warnings, Travel Alerts, and health information resources can be found. Up-to-date information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the U.S., or, for callers outside the U.S. and Canada, a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays).
Citizens traveling and residing in Georgia are advised to register their presence in the country through the U.S. Department of State’s automated online registration system, https://travelregistration.state.gov.
The U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi is located at 11 Balanchine Street (in Didi Dighomi), Tbilisi 0131, Georgia, Tel: 995-32-27-70-00. The after hours emergency number is 995-99-57-39-69, or, if dialing locally on a mobile telephone, 899-57-39-69.
