The Supreme Court ruling on gun laws last Thursday created media frenzy. Editorials, columnists, anchors and pundits predicted it would result in an American Armageddon.
According to the major media outlets in the nation, innocent lives will be lost, the Supreme Court justices have joined forces with city criminals and life as weve known it is over.
Who knew upholding the Constitution would have such disastrous effects?

I know it’s changed MY life.
I had to shoot it out with three other motorists, AND engage in a sword fight, this morning on my way to work.
I tell you, it’s like the wild west out there ever since the Gang of Nine declared, against “all precedent”, that the 2nd Amendment protects an INDIVIDUAL right to keep and bear arms.
Mr. Journalist who wants to abolish the Second Amendment,
Before publishing your column calling for the eradication of gun rights did you do all of the following?
a) Undergo a Federal background check to see if you should be allowed to exercise your First Amendment rights.
b) Fill out and sign an affidavit to testify that you should be allowed to exercise your First Amendment rights.
c) Wait for five days to cool down before you exercised your First Amendment rights.
d) Have your column writings tested by local authorities with a copy of your writing style on file. (Otherwise known as a ballistic fingerprinting)
e) Have the serial number of your column recorded with your name and address by local, state, and federal authorities.
f) Get fingerprinted by your local police.
g) Take a mandatory 16-hour Journalism Safety course.
h) Have your name and address published in the local newspaper stating that you had applied for a permit to carry your column around with you.
(In Ohio)
j) Are you required to keep your columns locked in a cabinet when not in use.
k) are you allowed to write only one column every 30 days?
BTTT
Oh yeah. And special taxes on ink, newsprint and presses - AND a licensing system to own and transport them.
You had me going until I read about the sword fight and then I knew you were just pulling my leg. ;^)
Well, swords are part of the “arms” we individuals have a right to keep and bear, aren’t they?
We wouldn’t want to be accused of being “Bladist” after all.
It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid some people can be. If making it legal to own a handgun in DC is going to make it “Dodge City,” what was DC before? Xanadu? Can these people be that dense? What is the thinking here? DC is the most crime-ridden sink hole in the nation, barring some other contenders who have nearly identical gun laws, from New Orleans, to Atlanta to London, but these fools just don’t seem capable of understanding the obvious. When you disarm the good people, bad people will victimize them.
How about limiting them to the use of hand operated printing presses only.
I mean, the founding fathers could NEVER have conceived of electric printing presses, laser printers and the internet, after all.
That’s brilliant and right to the point. Thanks.
Heh. They’ve certainly used that “logic” on us. Turnabout is fair play in my book.
Damn, that was a nice retort.
LOL - I hope you send this to the editor via Email... You make a great point. :)
Yeah, there goes that pesky Constitution trumping policy again.
But fear not, Barack Hussein Obama will burn it on the steps of the White House during his inauguration and CHANGE this country into something as fresh and new as communism. Resistance is futile!
Excellent!
Didn't Al Gore ban the importation of swords? Or was it just Samurai swords?
Yes.
Life will be better for us all once B. Hussein Obama is crowned Chancellor.
