It started a few weeks ago when conservative radio powerhouse Rush Limbaugh suggested that his Republican following cross over during the primary to vote for Clinton. Clinton, Limbaugh argued, would be easier for McCain to beat in November......
A staggering 16,000-plus Republicans in Cuyahoga County switched parties when they voted in last week's primary.
At least one member of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections wants to investigate some Republicans who may have crossed party lines only to influence which Democrat would face John McCain.
Anyone who crossed lines was supposed to sign a pledge card vowing allegiance to their new party. In Cuyahoga County, dozens and dozens of Republicans scribbled addendums onto their pledges as new Democrats.
"For one day only."
"I don't believe in abortion."
A Plain Dealer review of thousands of records showed few of those who switched were challenged by poll workers.
Ohio voters are allowed to switch party affiliations on the day of a primary election but only if they sign a pledge vowing to support their new party - and mean it.
Lying on the pledge is a felony, punishable by six to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.

Yeah we know all about crossover voting here in Michigan.
And in NH and SC
Is crossover voting anything like crossdressing?
How about a dem crossing over and voting for Mc Cain.... no problem with that?
Anyone who voted for Hillary must be sincere or they wouldn’t have done it - I could never do it.
For somebody as utterly humorless as Amanda Garrett, she sure writes funny stuff.
Wow, I must sign a pledge card and double dog swear. What next, a brain activity sensor to see if you are telling the truth? The silly season is here.
Oh those rascally mischievous Republican mavericks, they’re at it again.
“What next, a brain activity sensor to see if you are telling the truth?”
Don’t give those ‘Rats any ideas.......
Oh, BOO HOO!
What’s good for the goose.... I wonder if the same attention and whining will be editorialized when they, the dimorats, stuff the ballot boxes with votes from illegal aliens and dead people who are still on the registers?
Too funny.
They can't even get this right. That's not what Rush said. He said he wanted to keep the nomination process going as long as possible to "bloody" the candidates and force this to the convention, which looks like it will.
Since the general election has the candidates from all the parties that qualify to be on the ballot, and since it is a secret ballot (even in Ohio) this is a meaningless pledge (except for those with too much integrity to lie, i.e. most conservatives).
proving this in a court would be near impossible and a huge waste of resources
If they said “for one day only” they weren’t lying! LOL!
Since when do Dimmocrats care about wasting resources?!
Just tell the court appointed lawyer you want to plead “temporary insanity” when they prosecute.
For one day only, I don’t believe in abortions.
This is hilarious!! Guess the Dems don’t like their own game being played, eh?
Maybe they DID mean it. They just changed their minds immediately after voting.
Hey Rats, ain't payback a bitch? (LOL)
