Lying on the pledge is a felony, punishable by six to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.

ROFLMAO! Yeah, that will stand up in court.

Anyone who crossed lines was supposed to sign a pledge card vowing allegiance to their new party

Consider, please, my Screen Name, and please pardon me for shouting:

Shouldn't that Party (ahem, both of them) and its Candidates vow and MEAN allegiance to the UNITED STATES FLAG and CONSTITUTION?!?!?

proving this in a court would be near impossible and a huge waste of resources

Well if you switched affiliations to DemocRAT but donated money to the RNC and Repuplican candidates, it would be pretty easy to demonstrate bad faith. All it would take would be to cross reference the voter roll database to a political contributions database.

It would really be fun if they did prosecute a bunch.

Does this negate or highlight the freaking busloads of Massholes, New Yawkahs, and newly minted Vermont lunatics who voted in New Hampshire? I saw them all crossing the border, everyone else saw them over the weekend..
does this mean Mitt actually won NH but we don't get a “re-Do” because we are Not Sleaze-o-crats?
Maybe that Moter-Voter same day registration is biting you in the ass now.... Howard.. Howard Dean.. please pick up the white courtesy scream phone

How about a dem crossing over and voting for Mc Cain.... no problem with that?

Not the same thing, they are still voting for a democrat!

“Your Honor, when I signed the pledge, I meant it before I didn’t mean it.”

As a resident of Medina county (Ohio), I was fourth in line to vote when I arrived at my local polling station. All those in front of me declared their party affiliation as required … all were democrats. When my turn came, I declared myself “Republican”. You could have heard a mouse fart with all the sudden silence that ensued, it was most deafening. ;-)

The only way to deal with this problem is to put thousands of Ohio Republican crossover voters in jail and let the murderers, robbers and rapists go free.

Huh. I walked up and was asked if I was voting democrat or Republican. That was it.

You've got to be kidding.

Neither party wants patriots, they both want and need brain dead lemmings regardless of the cost.

The age of flag and country is long dead.

It’s a good thing that this was not Chicago or Philly! Half of the dead folk there would have crossed over!!!!!!!!!

It’s only “illegal” if Republicans do it. However, when they crossed over to vote, they became DemocRATS for that day. Therefore, no crime.

“It started a few weeks ago when conservative radio powerhouse Rush Limbaugh suggested that his Republican following cross over during the primary to vote for Clinton. Clinton, Limbaugh argued, would be easier for McCain to beat in November......”

Limbaugh never said this. He wants Republicans to crossover to help wreak havoc in the dim party and he hopes that they will have a contentious convention whereby Hitlery steals the nomination. He has never said the she would be easier to beat than Obambi the Obamalyptic candidate.

My grandparents, who live in the Cleveland area, would have fits if they knew I was a Republican.

Ohio voters are allowed to switch party affiliations on the day of a primary election but only if they sign a pledge vowing to support their new party - and mean it.

I dare them to try to make that argument...I HIGHLY doubt the wording in the regulations stipulates "and mean it"...LOL.
