Tuned into the debate last night and this idiot Obama proved again does not have a clue.
He made the statement that US platoons are going short manned to Afganistan because a portion of them are being sent to Iraq. Then he said our soldiers in Afganistan are so poorly equipped they are using captured Taliban munitions!
I can guarantee you if this was the case the media would have been all over it months or years ago. Who is going to challenge him on this?
>> If some Spec Ops guys are occasionally using an AK, it is because they want to, not because they have to.
That’s what I recall reading. Some troops choose AK-47 because they think it’s more jam-resistant or something. (I’m not a gun-head so I may not have it right in the details.)
But... the operative word is, CHOOSE to use the weapon.
If CNN were really journalists, THEY would call the candidates on this crapola. But they’re not journalists.
“Barack has spent hours studying military tactics using Battleship, Stratego and Risk”.
He wasn’t able to figure those games out so he sticks to playing Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders.
If you liked George McGovern, you’ll love Barack Obama.
I wonder how well the wounded Soldiers would receive such a visit?
From The Art of War:
8. The skillful soldier does not raise a second levy,
neither are his supply-wagons loaded more than twice.
9. Bring war material with you from home, but forage
on the enemy. Thus the army will have food enough
for its needs.
Reminds me of those BS stories about Moms in sewing circles making body amour for sons in the military who were going without. These people haven’t a clue
Two God damned fools.
I agree with you with special forces BUT Obama was clearly talking about regular soldiers having to scrounge from captured Taliban munitions because the US military is so “strained” from Iraq.
What, like these guys?
Obama really should shut up about military and counter insurgency issues since it's obvious he does NOT know what's he's talking about. U.S. Spec Ops traditionally arm themselves with enemy equipment and weapons while working behind the lines since it is easier to procure resupply and ammo that way. What a moron!
If our troops happen to find or capture Taliban equipment, and it is useful in any way, they should use it. It’s sort of like getting free money from the government, a concept that Obomba should be able to understand.
Is that dope on dope?
I remember a cousin of mine, real anti Bush SR, who was just besides herself over the fact we were sending Soldiers to Iraq in 1991 WITHOUT GAS MASKS!
She was believing everything she was being told from the left wing.
Yes, some left without gas masks, only to pick them up from prepositioned supplies in Kuwait...
It’s a well known fact that AK’s are much more resilient and less prone to jamming and require less tender loving care than U.S. M-4s and M-16s
One major difference was McGovern was a vet.
Your word “choose” makes no sense to a leftist except when used to justify infanticide.
To the left, anything that isn’t required is prohibited, and all dictates and decisions come from a small group or single individual at the top of the authority structure.
A. Use a weapon which says to all within both visual and hearing range "Hey, I'm an American, how you doing?", or
B. Use a weapon which looks and sounds like the same weapon the local bad guys use?
SF operators are not stupid. Or politicians.
I agree with your statement; make use of what you can BUT
Obama was CLEARLY making a point that our troops were SCAVAGING from captured Taliban munitions because our military is so strained from Iraq. In other words; our sons & daughters are not being provided with the proper equipment to protect themselves and win the fight - typical left wing blow in the wind statements that come up time and again.
True. I was vaguely thinking that Obama had perhaps heard that SW types were using captured Taliban weapons, and completely misunderstood both the extent and the reason. More likely, though, he’s just dangerously ignorant.
Yep, we sure want him to take control.
