Romney out. Congratulations Freepers on ensuring there was no conservative in the race. (Vanity)

Posted on 02/07/2008 9:51:12 AM PST by mbraynard

You rallied behind someone who never had their heart in the race and was never a leader in their life (Thompson) or never had a chance in hell (Hunter). What is needed more than anything to win the WH is a drive to do the spade work necessary to get there. So by denying Romney victory in IA and NH and SC, and splitting the field, you now have probably the worst enemy of all - someone the Wonderful Mr. Jim Robinson never saw fit to put a 'truth file' on.

So, nice work.

It doesn't matter. I will be banned soon.

Don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out, princess. Too bad you don't have even 1% of the class and loyalty your candidate has.

Omgosh. I gotta sleep on this one. That thread was hilarious and so confusing. Mostly the former, but a little bit of the latter. Are you trying to confuse me?

Your foul language may help you — if you post on DU or Koz.

Because of the nature of the interface, I can only reply with a frosty cold pint of “youdamnright.”

“Get bent” is a general insult, sort of a more emphatic version of “get lost” or “screw you.” FUBAR way, way predates instant messaging. It originated in the military and stands for “Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition.” of course, the “F” doesn’t actually stand for “fouled.”

You forgot tax increase addict in your description. I like where you’re going, though.

Thanks! Like a blind pig, even I can find a truffle once in awhile.

What a coincidence. I am an electrical engineer and no I don't have coke-bottle glasses nor a pocket protector. Here's my picture:

Just kidding.

Perhaps the decline in FR hits has something to do with it.

I think that decline has a lot to do with blogs, and not necessarily the nature of FR itself.

In 2000 I kinda wanted to pull the lever in SC for Keyes. He's the guy I agreed with the most (though he's kinda crooked, it turns out - little bit of a meal-ticket candidate). However, God gave me the good sense to recognize that McCain needed to be STOPPED in SC and I pulled for W, and not a damned day goes by that I'm not thankful W won and McCain didn't. Yeah, W is far from perfect, but he has done a great job compared what McCain would have done.

Unfortunately, a lot of people around here decided not accept God's grace as I did and vote for the right person who had the balls to carry it through for us and who was campaigning as if his life depended on it and spending his own money as if the nation depended on it, rather than someone who was campaigning for a role in the next Dick Wolfe TV drama.

Got it?

I thought Mitt was by far the best one that ran. He wasn’t beaten by the people here. He was beaten by the open borders lobby. That includes the MSM, the multi-nationals, the Republican establishment, the Bushes and to a very small extent the morons on this site. This open borders bunch takes down everyone that stands in their way. They took down Pat Buchanan, Perot, Tancredo, and now Romney. Unless we get a strong third party, someone like Lou Dobbs we are going to have a massive decline in our standard of living.

Thanks. 50mm helped with both of those a few posts back. I’m just catching up. Seriously, tons of family military and former military and never heard of FUBAR. Maybe they just didn’t say it around me or I wasn’t paying attention. Heard get bent but never knew what it meant.

I’m not usually a cusser/curser but I do it at times. It doesn’t bother me really. I figured the F didn’t mean foul.

So what do we do now in Nov? I honestly don’t think I can vote for McCain. I admire and appreciate his military service. My Dad was a WWII vet and couldn’t stand him back in the 90s. I have lots of family currently or previously in the military and they don’t trust him, at all. But they don’t want hillary or obama (and obama isn’t really an option imo no matter what the media and dems say) so what do we do? Then I read here and there are those that support him, rightly imo, on his military background or because they were military or have family in the military. I think for the first time since Reagan, my first vote, I won’t vote republican.

I’m not sure you’re 100% right, but you do make a good point that a governor who actually supports american sovereignty is going to have an uphill climb.

I'm getting tired myself, hence the silliness. No I'm not trying to confuse, just trying to entertain, inform and keep count on Silver's male equipment re-angling barbs.

Enjoyed the talk with you. Please feel free to summon me for questions on FR and how to use it or for anything else for that matter. Just do a search for user "50mm." I'd be happy to talk with your daughter about engineering, too. There are far to few women in the profession.

A belated failte to Free Republic. Good night.

Oh give it up Petronski you know what I mean don’t play dumb you can fill in the spaces!

In other words you say one thing but your mind is elsewhere and so is most of America which is why the Lord has not blessed us with a true conservative, and we are stuck with McCain.

Until those who say they are conservative elevate their thoughts to match their words we will be saddle with a McCain or worst yet an out right Socialist!
