You are seriously making me ROTFLOL! I recall college. The Engineers were so detailed (it was a huge joke to all of us non engineer types). Back then, the engineers were considered these rigid, geeky types but I know first hand they weren’t like that all. Well, they were like that but not in a negative sense. Heh. I married an electrical engineer and he was far from geeky other than he was super smart and that was a huge turn on.
My oldest is an A student, serious high school athlete (she could get athletic scholarships too for volleyball, even to penn state who if you didn’t know won the freakin’ national championship this year, but really she probably won’t get the athletic scholarship for a div 1 school). She has a 4.0 weighted gpa and is in all honors/AP classes for her core classes plus she’s an athlete plus she works at least 20 hours a week and plus she’s involved in extracurricular ativities and tutors other students. But she’s not a minority so...she’s basically screwed since I can’t afford out of state tuition. Same with the other teen. She’s a soph, honor student, volleyball/athlete, but she can’t go to penn state either unless they offer tons of tuition money. Same with the other two. A 4th and 6th grader and both play soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball competitively and both are A/B students. But they won’t get the money, not that they should don’t get me wrong - my point is no one should based on race or gender (?) or anything else but academics. Point is, two and probably 4 of my kids won’t get a damn thing to help them with college because they’re white and that sucks imo. We have these intelligent, focused kids and we’re losing them because of the socialist state this country is continuing to become. Sure, they’ll do it without amy help but it sucks that intelligence and even athleticism is based on some stupid minority crap. And I really wouldn’t mind, because in my opinion, we’re not owed anything, however, I hate paying for everyone else.
