“Get bent” is a general insult, sort of a more emphatic version of “get lost” or “screw you.” FUBAR way, way predates instant messaging. It originated in the military and stands for “Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition.” of course, the “F” doesn’t actually stand for “fouled.”

Thanks. 50mm helped with both of those a few posts back. I’m just catching up. Seriously, tons of family military and former military and never heard of FUBAR. Maybe they just didn’t say it around me or I wasn’t paying attention. Heard get bent but never knew what it meant.

I’m not usually a cusser/curser but I do it at times. It doesn’t bother me really. I figured the F didn’t mean foul.

So what do we do now in Nov? I honestly don’t think I can vote for McCain. I admire and appreciate his military service. My Dad was a WWII vet and couldn’t stand him back in the 90s. I have lots of family currently or previously in the military and they don’t trust him, at all. But they don’t want hillary or obama (and obama isn’t really an option imo no matter what the media and dems say) so what do we do? Then I read here and there are those that support him, rightly imo, on his military background or because they were military or have family in the military. I think for the first time since Reagan, my first vote, I won’t vote republican.
