Romney out. Congratulations Freepers on ensuring there was no conservative in the race. (Vanity)

Posted on 02/07/2008 9:51:12 AM PST by mbraynard

You rallied behind someone who never had their heart in the race and was never a leader in their life (Thompson) or never had a chance in hell (Hunter). What is needed more than anything to win the WH is a drive to do the spade work necessary to get there. So by denying Romney victory in IA and NH and SC, and splitting the field, you now have probably the worst enemy of all - someone the Wonderful Mr. Jim Robinson never saw fit to put a 'truth file' on.

So, nice work.

So, what, we were supposed to back Romney back in April when the average Freeper was using the term “Rudy McRomney?” That’s conservatism, surrendering early?

I figured there was something I was missing but I do get riled up when racist or bigot is mentioned. Seems we can only mention that when it applies to white, straight men in our PC society.

I think this was the poster's opus.

I hope so.

~”He talks the talk.”~

And if he walks the walk? If, over the next few years, he fights for conservative principles through speeches, through support of conservative politicians, through battling at our side as we oppose the creep of liberalism, will you have a change of heart?

I’m also catholic - another unPC group. I guess I’m a PC loser all around.

The embracement of Romney by the “conservative” media was a disgrace.

Baloney. They only supported him when the two guys he was up against were far worse. Is he a Reagan conservative? No. Is he better than McCain and Huck? Absolutely.

Turned out it he wasn’t doing his opus. He comes back with a vengeance and dares the mod to dispatch him. I drew him back out with one of my later posts calling him a HARDHEAD. Read on, it gets much more entertaining.

Perhaps the decline in FR hits has something to do with it.

Most Freepers realized this when Fred was still in the race. But once he dropped out Mitt miraculously morphed into a "Reagan conservative" who could "save the party" in less than a week. It's interesting how desperation warps the brain.

No offense, Mojo, but I think something may have warped your brain. Virtually every freeper who supported Romney after Fred dropped out expressed reluctance about doing so. I still think he's no Reagan, but he is better than McCain or Huck by miles.

But... but... all the Huckabee bashers on FR INSISTED that Huckabee was a "media creation" and that the MSM was "carrying his water",

I never said that. I said he was a weasel in sheep's clothing whose supporters are idiots who would buy the Brooklyn bridge if the guy selling it told them he was a Christian.

But hey, I appreciate the opportunity to clarify that for you.

LOL! Thanks. Honestly, it’s been great here (being a Catholic). At least mostly.

;)they can inform all they want but I know my Faith and what it means to me. I was telling, as I always tell, my bible study class tonight that I’m probably the most conservative catholic in the building (rectory and convent) but I’m informed on the world, hell I live in the world. I asked about the social justice/social teachings tonight and it was eye opening. I always thought the catholic church leaned towards socialism ideals (ecomically)but not in this class. I was having a little debate with the facilitator, because our parish tends to be on the liberal side, so it was pleasant to see that it’s not really the case. We still disagree on Islam and the whole religion of peace crap but we’re working on it.

Hey, I’m against sex before marriage but I recall my teenage, college years. I’m against artificial means of birth control but again, I’ve had 4 kids, not having anymore unless it happens and it’d be great. Just not trying to have any more. I’m too old. But if I happened to get pregnant, it would be wonderful. I’m against abortion all the time in every situation (we even had a little tiff about that tonight in Bible study class). I’m all for gun ownership (2nd A) and capitalism, another tiff we had tonight, but it’s all good. It was an interesting night.

Pretending that the weasel in sheep’s clothing never had a record on immigration until a few weeks or months ago may help you vote for him, but it’s not going to get anyone who’s been paying attention to join the Clusterhuck.

You act as if Hunter was at ten or twenty percent in the polls and we all said, “Nah, let’s ditch him and go with Fred.”

His campaign was a wreck, Let’s deal with it like adults instead of coming up with useless recriminations.
