Hillary: Pakistan troops might have killed Bhutto

CLINTON, Iowa - Hillary Rodham Clinton waded into Pakistan's volatile internal political situation Saturday, raising the possibility the country's military might have assassinated Benazir Bhutto because the killing took place in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Clinton's remarks came as Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's government seemed to reject a call for an independent international investigation of the murder that Clinton and John Edwards proposed on Friday.

During a question-and-answer session at an elementary school here, Clinton offered a detailed prescription for the troubled country, suggesting that the U.S divert aid away from its military to social welfare programs.

And for the second time in as many days, she cast doubt on Musharraf's contention that the suicide bombing that led to the death of the country's most popular opposition leader was masterminded by al-Qaida.

"There are those saying that al-Qaida did it. Others are saying it looked like it was an inside job -- remember Rawalpindi is a garrison city," she said.

Earlier in the day, the former first lady sat down with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos and said that, as president, it wouldn't be "appropriate" for her to include Bill Clinton in top-secret security discussions.

The woman is an IDIOT!! Such inflammatory remarks reflect, possibly, her utter ignorance or, more likely, her willingness to cause unimaginable troubles for her political gain. She should be locked up

Outside of her parents & her "Sunday school" teacher who appeared out of nowhere this month, who with a mind would vote for her. Apparently she doesn't scare ole Warren Buffett.

"In Hillary's defense she didn't actually say that in the article."

She said: "Others are saying it looked like it was an inside job -- remember Rawalpindi is a garrison city".

She is obviously implying that Bhutto may have killed by Pakistani troops. I don't see any other way to interpret it. The headline is not an exact quote, but it is accurate.

An astonishingly dumb and destabilizing thing to voice at this moment. Shame on her.

OMG! Did she ever step in it.

" she wants to destabilize Pakistan, ala what Carter wrought in Iran. "
Yeah, but, this time, the stakes are higher, in the fact that Pakistan has nukes, IMHO, she calculated this statement for optimal effect.
And the latter party ( Iran ), might have nukes with no thanks to Jimma.

I don't think the Smartest Woman in the World is all that smart.

No. She's being clever....and trying to undermine Musharraff and cause further chaos in Pakistan. The Democrat strategy in Pakistan now is to turn it over to terrorist militants similar to what was done in Iran during Carter.

This is why Pakistan hated us when she was in the WH. Guess she wants Bin Hidin to run the Country. What a Maroon.

Pray for W and Our Troops

the former first lady...said that, as president, it wouldn't be "appropriate" for her to include Bill Clinton in top-secret security discussions.

That's OK. History shows that Bubba would rather play with interns and cigars than attend to national security anyway. However, it would be interesting to know if she considers it "appropriate" to include Sandy Burglar in "top secret security discussions."

Frighteningly irresponsible.

This woman is evil personified. She had no right inserting herself into this...and I fear it isn't just for her usual reasons of personal power.

She intends to do everything she can to sabotage and action we are about to take that may be the ONLY thing that bring the Taliban to bay and keep the war in Afghanistan from going on for decades: We have finally worked out a deal with Musharraf to send Special Forces into Pakistan to help train the forces there.

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/earlywarning/2007/12/musharrafs_woes_have_opened_a.html?nav=rss_blog

If we can't go after them in Pakistan, we will be fighting them for decades more.

Now I wonder if this evil and traitorous woman hasn't been passing military secrets to our enemies...

She has NO RIGHT mudding the waters. She should be, at the least, tarred, feathered and ridden out on a rail. Pure Sedition.

" People may die because of her reckless speculations."

Gonna be hard to tell- people are dying there now regardless, and Musharraf will likely be soon.

Then again, maybe that is what she wants after all, the terrorist to get control of Pakistan.

And their nukes.

She's off message, it's supposed to be Bush's fault.

Uh, that is her message: 'The Bush-backed Pakistani govt and military killed Bhutto.'

That's it Queen Hillary. Show us how well informed you are on these matters even before you have any access to Intelligence Briefs.

This Beatch can not be elected! She will destroy the Republic!

i hope she realizes what she is saying.

If AQ gets pinned with this assassination, this crisis (at least in the short term) should resolve itself after Bhutto followers vent.

If Musharaff/Paki military gets pinned with this, it may very well spell the end of his rule and seriously opens the door to potentially very bad things happening. The Paki military is the only glue that holds that (nuclearly armed) country together. Take that away and India may not wait around to see who takes over when the dust settles. India is NOT going to let Paki nukes come under the control of some Taliban/AQ inspired regime . . . they will preempt

If Hillary! is the smartest woman, that would explain why the US has not had a female president! Guess next week we’ll get the chance to see how smart the Iowa caucus voters are. If they can’t see through Hillary!’s BS, their first-in-the-nation hype will forever be just that - hype - to me!
