Hillary: Pakistan troops might have killed Bhutto

CLINTON, Iowa - Hillary Rodham Clinton waded into Pakistan's volatile internal political situation Saturday, raising the possibility the country's military might have assassinated Benazir Bhutto because the killing took place in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Clinton's remarks came as Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's government seemed to reject a call for an independent international investigation of the murder that Clinton and John Edwards proposed on Friday.

During a question-and-answer session at an elementary school here, Clinton offered a detailed prescription for the troubled country, suggesting that the U.S divert aid away from its military to social welfare programs.

And for the second time in as many days, she cast doubt on Musharraf's contention that the suicide bombing that led to the death of the country's most popular opposition leader was masterminded by al-Qaida.

"There are those saying that al-Qaida did it. Others are saying it looked like it was an inside job -- remember Rawalpindi is a garrison city," she said.

Earlier in the day, the former first lady sat down with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos and said that, as president, it wouldn't be "appropriate" for her to include Bill Clinton in top-secret security discussions.

True or not, it certainly isn't a comment that is going to help quell the violence in Pakistan....which should be the goal of any "diplomacy" now - from the administration or 2008 candidates.

Hillary's remarks are designed to hurt Bush...because the military backs Musharraf and Musharraf is backed by the Bush administration. [after 911, there was no other choice]

The comment gains the U.S. nothing. It's only purpose is to pander to the left wing democrat Bush haters that support her.

She will do anything, say anything, and damn the consequences, for power!

Hillary: Pakistan troops might have killed Bhutto

In Hillary's defense she didn't actually say that in the article. Just another case of irresponsible journalism by twisting her words around to sell the article.

“I think that Hillary should just fly over there Herself and take charge of the international investigation. When the ROP is done with her we won’t get back enough to put in an aspirin bottle.”

Dreamer.

Also, Hillary missed the opportunity to make an obvious point (at least in terms of her constituency). Bhutto has been a target of Islamofascists precisely because of her gender. The Taliban/al-Qaeda don’t want a woman leading a Muslim country.

Klintoon “logic”:

Pakistan has been our ally and has given help to Bush in the War on Terror.

Therefore, Pakistan is evil.

Therefore, tehy obviously murdered Benazir.

BTW, did you notice that Hitlery said that “Benazir Bhutto was my friend”? Another friend of the Klintoons who wound up dead. How many does that make now?

This is the sort of irresponsible blather that sparks riots in Pakistan. People may die because of her reckless speculations.

When will this lady learn to shut her mouth. It’s going to be pretty hard to say “it was just a joke” tomorrow.

Al-Qaida has been after Bhutto for 15 years and now we’re supposed to believe someone else killed her?

And they threatened her shortly before she was assassinated and claimed responsibility for it afterwards.

But they're the enemy of Bush and the enemy of my enemy is my friend, right?

Pakistan's military is the only thing preventing the country's disintegration, and a Jihadist nuclear arsenal. And she lends credence to those who want to make that happen. Such irresponsibility from someone in her position is outrageous. Our first, second and third policy objective regarding Pakistan must be ensuring a stable, responsible command and control of their nukes. Nothing else comes close.

"...There are those saying that al-Qaida did it. Others are saying it looked like it was an inside job -- remember Rawalpindi is a garrison city..."

Perhaps I misunderstood this statement. Is sure sounds like me that she is saying that Pakistan troops might have killed Bhutto...she isn't saying it directly, but why make that statement EXCEPT to give it creedence?

This will be Huge. Especially if the situation escalates and because of these very few words the situation becomes irreversible.

Seinfeld, “The Pick,” December 16, 1992

TIA: What are you doing here?

JERRY: Well, I had to talk to you - I noticed you haven’t been returning my calls.

TIA: Well, I’ve been busy.

JERRY: Because I - I thought we had a good time the other night, an’ the only explanation I can come up with is that you think that you caught me (flustered, he indicates a nose pick)

TIA: (Waving him off) I’d rather not talk about this..

JERRY: But I was clearly on the outer edge of the nostril.

TIA: I know what I saw. (Turns toward the elevators)

JERRY: But there - but there was no pick! I - I did not pick! There ws no piick!

TIA: I gotta go. (Quickly walks away from Jerry)

JERRY: No! No pick!

By her comments, does she realize what she is doing by inciting violence and riots in Pakistan against the Pakistan government ? and could may well cause a coup in Pakistani ?
Her statements are very irresponsible and reckless.
Then again, maybe that is what she wants after all, the terrorist to get control of Pakistan.
