According to our source, an activist here in Arizona has been approached by the Ron Paul campaign; the campaign has requested that he run the Arizona effort to get Ron Paul on the general election ballot as a candidate of the Constitution Party.
Our source has requested anonymity, and we have agreed. We can, however, vouch for his/her general reliability. Our source also provided us with details that added credibility to the account. (Unfortunately, disclosure of those details would put at risk our promise of anonymity. We apologize for the unnamed sourcing and lack of further details, but those were the requirements that accompanied this revelation.)
We will keep you apprised of any new developments.
There has been a lot of analysis on the impact that Ron Paul has already had, and on the impact that he might...

So the 100 million a year the Israeli’s estimate Saddam gave to terrorists means nothing? So Saddam publicly announcing that his nation was a safe have means nothing? So Saddam publicly encouraging the terrorists organizations he gave money to expand their target list to include America means nothing?
Sorry only a complete moron would think Iraq had nothing to do with the WOT. Saddam was involved in terrorism up to his neck, and you don’t need any CIA briefs to know it, he talked about this stuff in his public speeches. The joke is you buddy, a stupid joke at that.

If this report is true, and I’m still fairly skeptical, it should make the race of Paul’s congressional seat far more interesting.
Paul hasn’t said if he’s running for re-election to his House seat, but most people think he intends to do so. The filing deadline is sometime within the next couple of weeks.
Would Paul run as a Republican for his House seat while seeking the Presidency in a different party? I don’t think that would fly in his Texas district. Already he has several announced opponents in the GOP primary.
We could be witnessing a spectacular crash and burn ending the political career of one of the strangest politicians in American history.

Well, at least he didn’t decide to sandbag my party (mainly because we wouln’t want him).

But such an analysis would only give credibility to your looney conspiracy theories. Since you are getting personal without any knowledge of my supporting logic, I can logically conclude that you are just slinging mud and probably incapable of examining the facts upon which to make rational counter arguments.

No, its simply that this info is of such a nature that confirmation (i.e. other sources) is needed. Jack Bauer is deeply saddened.......

I'm going to rip off Antoninus' answer because I think it's pretty much spot on... "With a conservative nominee like Thompson or Hunter, Ron Paul is no threat. With a liberal nominee like Rudy or Flip, Paul hands the election to Hillary. Don't be stupid with your vote."
Feel free to rip it off as much as you want. I've been preaching this since the media made Rudy McRomney into our front-runners. It's not difficult to see that any of these three are vulnerable to a 3rd party threat from a populist conservative. Ron Paul fits the bill.
Conservatives should ignore Pied Pipers like Hugh Hewitt who are too clever by half. They will lead us to a November day which will have us scratching our heads as to how a woman with a +50% negative rating can still be elected president with 45% of the vote. The answer is: "The same way her husband did." He ran against a moderate Republican who double-crossed the party base and a crazy populist who drew away just enough votes.
The solution to the problem is: vote for a conservative like Thompson or Hunter. Then an anti-war guy like Paul only draws vote away from the Democrats.

He cant seriously believe he could win, so why do it?
From the standpoint of one who belongs to a third party, it's like this:
You've got a candidate who could possibly get you enough votes to appear on the ballot next time, something third parties are constantly struggling against. This candidate is getting no traction in his current party. Now, wouldn't it be great if he left his party and came to yours, bringing his constituents with him, thus getting you the percentage of votes you need to appear on the national ballot?

Will Ron Paul draw his support (votes, not financial) from libertarians and conservatives or liberals?
Paul doesn't actually have a lot of love from Libertarians, myself included. He left our party to try to build a legacy. He's a turncoat.

Perfect Music link, Close Encounters of the Third Party kind.
During our last minute Christmas shopping events and traveling to our son and DIL’s home for Christmas, we saw a few interesting vehicles with Paul Stickers on them.
They were two types:
1. An old Volvo or Volkswagon Van with save the Whales, Peace Stickers, Green STickers, Kerry Edwards stickers, Impeach Bush stickers and Ron Paul Stickers.
2. A new luxury sedan or SUV (BMW, Merc, Lexus, Audi) with stop the war, no war for oil, impeach GW, Kerry/Edwards and Ron Paul Stickers.

Income tax cuts.... not permanent. They will expire and not get renewed. Thanks! The rest is wasting $ on big govt programs. You see the Medicare prescription drug giveaway as being good??

Reduced taxes on dividends and capital gains
In process of eliminating IRS marriage penalty.
Increased small business incentives to expand and to hire new people
Signed into law the No Child Left Behind legislation delivering the most dramatic education reforms in a generation (challenging the soft bigotry of low expectations)
Reorganized the INS in an attempt to safeguard the borders and ports of America and to eliminate bureaucratic redundancies and lack of accountability.
Signed trade promotion authority

So the 100 million a year the Israelis estimate Saddam gave to terrorists means nothing? So Saddam publicly announcing that his nation was a safe have means nothing? So Saddam publicly encouraging the terrorists organizations he gave money to expand their target list to include America means nothing? Can you provide a cite to any of this other than a GW or Cheney speech or some other sheep like yourself who is quoting them?
