Modern Conservative ^ | Christopher Cook

ModernConservative.com has received a tip from a reliable source that may have election-shattering implications.

According to our source, an activist here in Arizona has been approached by the Ron Paul campaign; the campaign has requested that he run the Arizona effort to get Ron Paul on the general election ballot as a candidate of the Constitution Party.

Our source has requested anonymity, and we have agreed. We can, however, vouch for his/her general reliability. Our source also provided us with details that added credibility to the account. (Unfortunately, disclosure of those details would put at risk our promise of anonymity. We apologize for the unnamed sourcing and lack of further details, but those were the requirements that accompanied this revelation.)

We will keep you apprised of any new developments.

There has been a lot of analysis on the impact that Ron Paul has already had, and on the impact that he might...

“I assume you are a Ron Paul supporter. I find it interesting that you feel his candidacy appeals primarily to voters on the left. I guess that means you are a liberal.”

You assumed a lot, are incorrect, and twisted my words - I didn’t say that.

3 strikes. Troll someone else.

Only a surface analysis of the issues would blame Perot for us getting us clinton. A deeper analysis would discuss the issues of Globalists owning both clinton and Bush. Perot only tilted the election to one of the globalist candidates. Whatever happened in the election we were going to get a globalist President. One was wrapped in the flag and the other was wapped in overt perversion, but they were both globalist.

Still don't have the guts to answer these questions do you?

Now how about giving me YOUR perspective on these questions (as opposed to what other Freepers have said): Will Ron Paul win? Will Ron Paul draw his support (votes, not financial) from libertarians and conservatives or liberals?

Yeah, that’s why I have little patience for the idea of voting third party or staying home in the general. I am absolutely disgusted by some of the gOP field, but there is simply no way I’m down for having Hillary appoint 2 Supremes that will still be on the bench in the 2040s.

Will Ron Paul win? Probably not, but that doesn't stop Hunter and Thompson supporters from donating to their candidate of choice.

Will Ron Paul draw his support (votes, not financial) from libertarians and conservatives or liberals?

Although I would probably be discounted by most freepers as not being a conservative since I think going to Iraq was a joke and had nothing to do with the WOT, I do consider myself a conservative and I will vote for him. I can only speak for myself.

If the GOP nominate a strong conservative Hunter or Thompson,m a Paul third party ticket will be good. If the GOP nominates a liberal like Huckster, Mitt, or Rudy a Paul ticket will give the Rats the White House.

But such an analysis would only give credibility to your looney conspiracy theories.

A vote for this guys is nothing more than a vote for dims.Anyone remember what percent perot took first time around?

I love it when people say things like this. It reminds me of the voters story from 1964. The man said that he was told if he voted for Barry Goldwater he'd get war in southeast Asia, racial unrest in American cities and a ruined economy. Well, he voted for Goldwater anyway and they were right because that's exactly what he got. Both the Republican and Democrat parties are run by big government socialists. There is not going to be any real change if the Democrats win. How different has Bush II really been from Clinton the first? What have we gotten from Bush? We've gotten bigger government, more debt, more abrogation of our individual liberties, a nicer red carpet for illegals immigants. That is exactly what I would have expected from Gore or Kerry.

I'm willing to take a chance and vote for someone other than the candidate that the establishment tells me to. I want real change and real reform. I have had enough of the sell out corporate globalist Republican socialists.

“Let’s try this: You tell me what impact Ron Paul’s running as a third party candidate will have on the election, not what others have said.”

I think that a good showing will have a bigger effect on other elections, by introducing people to libertarian ideas - people who now consider themselves social democrats will be drawn to him for his antiwar views and then get exposed to his ideas on small government. The sad thing is, the GOP should be spreading that message! They don’t.

“Will Ron Paul win? Will Ron Paul draw his support (votes, not financial) from libertarians and conservatives or liberals?”

Both. Liberals who think that Hillary is pro-war, which is many, and conservatives who think the GOP isn’t serving them anymore.

Ok. Thank you. As someone who has never paid much attention to Ron Paul, having already written him off as a kook, I just wanted to hear what your thoughts were concerning his impact on the election by running on a third party ticket vice the childish “they said we are all liberals” line.

Thanks again.

“Hahaaha - Hillary will get 2 Supreme Court nominees immediately as Stevens and Ginsberg will retire. You’re going to wish it was Harriet Myers... Every election it’s the same thing... a choice between the lesser of two evils - that’s a Republic for you, if you can keep it. If you really feel there’s no difference between the parties, I’d recommend you not bother voting.”

Think about what you’re saying. the 2 big libs on the court will be replaced by 2 other big libs.

So what?

Who will Julie Annie appoint? Flipp? Huckster

Last I checked Saddam isn't OBL, 15 of the 19 high jackers came from Saudi Arabia, and there were no WMD in Iraq. If this isn't a joke I don't know what it makes to take you laugh out load.

Salman Pak: The facility was discussed in the leadup to the 2003 invasion of Iraq as a result of a campaign by Iraqi defectors associated with the Iraqi National Congress to assert that the facility was a terrorist training camp. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has since established that both the CIA and the DIA concluded that there was no evidence to support these claims. Find a new story.

Banned Partial Birth Abortion

Reversed Clinton’s move to strike Reagan’s anti-abortion Mexico Policy

Killed the Kyoto Global Warming Treaty

Killed U.S. involvement in the International Criminal Court

Killed Clinton’s CO2 rules that were choking off all of the electricity surplus to California.

Killed Clinton’s “ergonomic” rules that OSHA was about to implement; rules that would have shut down every home business in America.

Has CONSTRUCTION in process on the first ten ABM silos in Alaska so that America has a defense against North Korean nukes

Pushed through THREE raises for our military.

Signed E.O. reversing Clinton’s policy of not requiring parental consent for abortions under the Medical Privacy Act

Signed TWO bills into law that arm our pilots with handguns in the cockpit

Currently pushing for full immunity from lawsuits for our national gun manufacturers

Ordered Attorney-General Ashcroft to formally notify the Supreme Court that the OFFICIAL U.S. government position on the 2nd Amendment is that it supports INDIVIDUAL rights to own firearms, NOT a leftist-imagined *collective* right

Told the United Nations we weren’t interested in their plans for gun control (i.e. the International Ban on Small Arms Trafficking Treaty)

Disarmed Libya of its Chemical, Nuclear, and biological WMD’s without bribes or bloodshed

Successfully executed 2 wars: Afghanistan and Iraq. 50 million people who had lived under tyrannical regimes now live in freedom

Executed a WAR ON TERROR by getting world-wide cooperation to track funds/terrorists (has cut off much of the terrorist’s funding and captured or killed many key leaders of the al Qaeda network)

Brought back our EP-3 intel plane and crew from China without any bribes or bloodshed

Started withdrawing our troops from Bosnia and has announced withdrawal of our troops from Germany and the Korean DMZ.

Signed the LARGEST nuclear arms reduction in world history with Russia

Initiated comprehensive review of our military, which was completed just prior to 9/11/01, accurately reported that ASYMMETRICAL WARFARE was critical.

Reorganized bureaucracy...after 9/11, condensed 20+ overlapping agencies and their intelligence sectors into one agency: the Department of Homeland Security.

Initiated discussion on privatizing Social Security and individual investment accounts.

Improving govt. efficiency with .8 million jobs put up for bid...weakening unions and cutting undeserved pay raises. Wants merit based promotions/raises only.

Orchestrated Republican control of the White House, the House AND the Senate.

Killed the liberal ABA’s role in vetting federal judges for Congress.

GWB signed an executive order enforcing the Supreme Court’s Beck decision (re: union dues being used for political campaigns against individual’s wishes)

Urging federal liability reform to eliminate frivolous lawsuits

Supports class action reform bill which limits lawyer fees so that more settlement money goes to victims

Submitted comprehensive Energy Plan—awaits Congressional action (works to develop cleaner technology, produce more natural gas here at home, make America less dependent on foreign sources of energy, improve national grid, etc.)

Endorses and promotes The Responsibility Era (”In a compassionate society, people respect one another and take responsibility for the decisions they make in life. My hope is to change the culture from one that has said, if it feels good, do it; if you’ve got a problem, blame somebody else — to one in which every single American understands that he or she are responsible for the decisions that you make; you’re responsible for loving your children with all your heart and all your soul; you’re responsible for being involved with the quality of the education of your children; you’re responsible for making sure the community in which you live is safe; you’re responsible for loving your neighbor, just like you would like to be loved yourself. “ -——this quote was too good to leave out)

Started the USA Freedom Corps

Initiated review of all federal agencies with a goal to eliminate federal jobs (completed September 2003) in an effort to reduce the size of federal gov while increasing private sector jobs.

Part of coalition (Russia, Israel, EU, Palestine, USA) for Israeli/Palestinian “Roadmap to Peace”

Nominated strong, conservative judges to the judiciary.

Changed parts of the Forestry Management Act to allow necessary clean-up of the national forests in order to reduce fire danger.

As part of the national forests clean-up, the President restricted judicial challenges (based on the Endangered Species Act and other challenges) and removed the need for an EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) before removing fuels/logging to reduce fire danger.

Significantly eased field-testing controls of genetically engineered crops.

I'm going to rip off Antoninus' answer because I think it's pretty much spot on...

With a conservative nominee like Thompson or Hunter, Ron Paul is no threat. With a liberal nominee like Rudy or Flip, Paul hands the election to Hillary. Don't be stupid with your vote.
