Will Ron Paul win? Will Ron Paul draw his support (votes, not financial) from libertarians and conservatives or liberals?I'm going to rip off Antoninus' answer because I think it's pretty much spot on...
With a conservative nominee like Thompson or Hunter, Ron Paul is no threat. With a liberal nominee like Rudy or Flip, Paul hands the election to Hillary. Don't be stupid with your vote.

Feel free to rip it off as much as you want. I've been preaching this since the media made Rudy McRomney into our front-runners. It's not difficult to see that any of these three are vulnerable to a 3rd party threat from a populist conservative. Ron Paul fits the bill.
Conservatives should ignore Pied Pipers like Hugh Hewitt who are too clever by half. They will lead us to a November day which will have us scratching our heads as to how a woman with a +50% negative rating can still be elected president with 45% of the vote. The answer is: "The same way her husband did." He ran against a moderate Republican who double-crossed the party base and a crazy populist who drew away just enough votes.
The solution to the problem is: vote for a conservative like Thompson or Hunter. Then an anti-war guy like Paul only draws vote away from the Democrats.

(Republicans who support Rudy owe Bill Clinton an apology.)
