Before Today I though Ron Paul was Nuts Now I think He is the only choice for President

Posted on 12/24/2007 10:39:05 AM PST by Reform Canada

I saw the interviews with Ron Paul on Glen Beck and Meet the Press and found myself agreeing with much of what he said. He referred to a movie called Freedom to Fascism so I decided to watch. I am a very skeptical person yet I am now convinced. For the sake of your future and the future of your family watch this movie and decide for yourself.

For those unwilling to watch don’t complain when Barrack Obama doubles your taxes and than seizes your property when you can’t pay.

Your logic is astounding. So it's Ron Paul or Barrack Obama, eh?

Ron Paul may have some sane followers.

But he is also the overwhelming choice of kooks and anarchists everywhere.

"Can anyone tell me one thing America has ever done that Ron Paul liked?"

Well, some Americans, and probably some Canadians, have sent him a lot of money. He liked that!

You are safe to view a film to decide to vote for Paul, because if you had viewed his record you’d know it defies everything he’s trying to convince you of.

Paul was never able to get one piece of his legislation through the process. He was a failure as a legislator.

Here’s where the Paul small government argument breaks down.

It’s true Paul has never gotten a piece of his legislation into law. It may even be true that he is consistent in voting.

But in a ten year period Ron CO SPONSORED 1876 bills written by other people. That’s 1000 more than Duncan Hunter. Now if you believe those 1876 bills were all to decrease government (remember written by others who Paul supporters say NEVER lower government!) You’ll believe anything.

Ron Paul has proved he can’t ‘govern’. He has a zero record of accomplishments, except for pushing 1876 bills others wrote through congress. Small government guy?

Just for comparison of actual accomplishments in congress:

Sponsored means he wrote or introduced the bill. Co sponsors sign on to other bills written by someone else.

Statistics: Duncan Hunter has sponsored 105 bills since Jan 7, 1997, of which 72 haven’t made it out of committee (Average)

and 10 were successfully enacted (Good, relative to peers).

Hunter has co-sponsored 894 bills during the same time period (Average, relative to peers).

Now take a look at Ron Paul, who claims many ‘accomplishments’ and would never vote for any frivolous, unconstitutional bill!

Statistics: Ronald Paul has sponsored 346 bills since Jan 7, 1997, of which 341 haven’t made it out of committee (Extremely Poor) and 0 were successfully enacted .(Average, relative to peers).

Paul has co-sponsored 1876 bills during the same time period (Average, relative to peers) NOTE: 1876 bills, written by other congress members. All ‘constitutional’ ? You decide.

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/person.xpd?id=400191

One of the stranger pieces of legislation that Paul Co sponsored would have kept him out of the debates!!

. H.CON.RES.263 : Expressing the sense of Congress that any Presidential candidate should be permitted to participate in debates among candidates if at least 5 percent of respondents in national public opinion polls of all eligible voters support the candidate’s election for President or if a majority of respondents in such polls support the candidate’s participation in such debates. Sponsor: Rep Jackson, Jesse L., Jr. [IL-2] (introduced 11/6/2001) Cosponsors (2)

See some of Paul’s CO sponsored legislation here:

Take note of the ultra liberal socialists in congress he signed on with.

I can tell you 3 things: (1) Your thread will not be removed, and various posters here will mock you horribly, and some will want to put you on their shoulders and parade you around while cheering. (2) If a mere video of a candidate’s appearance can make you support him, you are extremely easily led, and probably should be a Hillary(!) supporter instead. (3) They have medications for your condition. You should look into them.

I don’t think Ron Paul will actually win nor do I believe any Republican will win the White House. Right or not Republicans will take the blame for the massive debt incurred and will take a pounding in November. In 1964 the Republicans also took a pounding yet Barry Goldwater advanced a movement that 16 years later lead to the White House. In 1964 many Republican were calling Barry Goldwater nuts just like many are calling Ron Paul nuts. Ron Paul has started something that will continue to grow and with the internet it will grow a lot faster than Barry Goldwater’s movement. I can see someone carrying the torch of Paul’s movement into the White House possibly as soon as 2016. With the internet and it’s power to raise money it may very well be done outside of the Democrat or Republican Parties.

And for all those who have a problem with me being Canadian if you don’t wake up Canadians and Mexicans just might have a say in an American election in the next 10 or 20 years and that is the last thing America needs.

“”Now, here’s the news that would drive Paul supporters berserk if any had kept reading down to here, which they haven’t: Ron Paul’s polling numbers are now plummeting. Yup, going down, down. Once, he got the money to afford TV advertising in the Granite State, his support as measured by these no-doubt fraudulent polls began crumbling.

The new CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Primary Poll out today shows Paul’s support falling from its high of 8% in early November to 7% at the start of December and 5% last weekend, when he had his big fundraising success. (The phone survey of 411 random, likely Republican primary voters was between Dec. 13 and 17.)

Of course, if Paul supporters believed in polls, they would point out that....

with a margin of error of +/- 5%, Paul could theoretically be at 10%. That also means, naturally, he could be at 0% too.

Belief in Paul’s ability to handle terrorism held steady at 3%, to handle the economy fell from 7% to 3% and to handle taxes from 9% to 5%. His support for handling illegal immigration was steady at 4%, to handle abortion up from 4% to 5% and his ability to address the Iraq war (he’s the only GOP candidate who favors withdrawal) was steady at 5%.”””

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2007/12/ron-paulites-do.html

$18.5 MILLION PEOPLE!!!! $18.5 MILLION!!!

Yes a fool and his money are soon parted. However in Ron Paul’s case it is a damn fool and his money...

Are you a US citizen and eligble to vote, or are you just sticking your nose in where it doesn’t belong?

Illegals from Mexico vote, so what the hell, Canadians might as well too. We’ll send them all absentee ballots.

Yes, a lot (not all) of what Ron Paul said with Glenn makes good, conservative sense. Ron Paul is just not the right man to bring that message to Washington.

So you agree with Paul that President Reagan’s administration was a “dismal failure”...?

Reagan was the greatest President of the 20th Century. He had two primary goals going into office. #1) Win the Cold War and he succeeded with flying colors. #2) Reduce the size of the federal gov’t and on this count his administration did fail.

“”And for all those who have a problem with me being Canadian if you don’t wake up Canadians and Mexicans just might have a say in an American election in the next 10 or 20 years and that is the last thing America needs.””

The Canadians and the Mexicans are two of the biggest welfare receipients the U.S. taxpayer has to deal with.

Why don’t you do us all a favor and actually contribute something substantial to the protection of North America instead of lecturing Americans on spending issues?

2-4% support is a not a movement, it is an annoyance. Some bright pretty sparkly thing will get their attention once Paul loses the nomination, then the election (when he runs as a third party candidate).

Ron Paul thinks Iran doesn’t have a military.

LOL! Now that's funny. Iran is perhaps the biggest threat to Middle East stability right now and some people want to elect a guy who doesn't even know that Iran has a military?!?! Wow.

Iran does have a military. They just suck.
