This is one of those stories that we at Hot Air fully expected to have to write. Where Washington and border security are concerned, the course of events is always predictable: Congresscritters say what they think they have to say to calm us yahoos down, and then they strike some midnight deal to render everything that they said a lie. We may have to unleash YouTube on these weasels again.
In this clip, Rep. Duncan Hunter lays into the miscreants in Congress who have once again proven that our political class is corrupt and uninterested in what the majority of the country wants done. I left in the tail end of Becks opening rant prior to Hunters interview to give you a couple of nuggets to prove my point on that. Its another day in Washington, basically.
Glenn Beck also makes an excellent point about border patrol officers, which could easily be applied now to military members and the CIA agents who had to deal with high-value al Qaeda targets: Why do those jobs when you know with 100% certainty that the denizens of the Beltway will sell you out every chance they get?

This race for the nomination is getting more interesting by the day.
Ya know, the more Duncan hangs around in this race...
I’ve got to think that by the time Super Tuesday rolls around a lot of the current frontrunners will have “jumped the shark” and that can only help Hunter.
Time to put on the pressure on congress for reniging on their “promise” to build some fencing on the border.
I think they actually do not want to have immigration laws and borders.....
Join in the Chorus “We Are the World, we are the chil dren......”
congress sucks.
At every open questioning forum, someone needs to ask every senator and/or congressman, “Where’s the fence?”
Ping
Tidbit. Not just ‘where is the fence’; but pin them down as to whether they want a physcical fence or a virtual fence (which is also referred to as security fence).
Boeing has the contract for the virtual/security fence.
Duncan Hunter’s fence is physical.
Excellent!

(I always have problems viewing those embedded ones on HotAir)
Thomas Jefferson:
“God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed.
The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive.
If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if it’s rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance?
Let them take arms.
The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them.
What signify a few lives lost in a century or two?
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is its natural manure.”
John Adams:
“Remember, democracy never lasts long.
It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself.
There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.”
Anonymous framer of the US Constitution:
“Under every government the dernier [Fr. last, or final]
resort of the people, is an appeal to the sword; whether to defend themselves against the open attacks of a foreign enemy, or to check the insidious encroachments of domestic foes.”
Samuel Adams:
“The said constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.”
Sen. Hubert Humphrey:
Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.
This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used, and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced.
But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, and one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible.”
Anyhow, Duncan is the guy by a long shot and Thompson a distant second. Everyone else is liars, bumblers and nuts. And that's just the Republicans.
There are so many sellouts in our nation, it’s amazing it still exists, and pinning this solely on Congress is disturbing. The final version of this bill will be signed and our border will remain open, just the way it was meant to.
“Now is the time when those who take the threat to our nation’s borders seriously stand up and be counted,” said Hunter.
I called my rep. today, and said get the fence built; known terrorists have crossed our borders.
>>We must punish the morons that brought this about.<<
According to Hunter, that includes Pelosi, The 2 Texas senators, Bush, and Chertoff.
I would add almost all Dem House members who voted FOR the amendment.
I’ve been hoping that Duncan Hunter and Tancredo could stay in the race as strong border advocates.
Hunter just doesn’t seem to have the organization to get him to the top.
I applaud both of these guys!
Nice to see that we agree on something.
Excellent post!
I really like the first one.
We really are on the same team....just fussing over our positions.
Thanks for the ping. B4DH.

According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.
