Great post, looking past the horse race and cutting right to the heart of the matter. That shakes ‘em up.
What recourse do we have?..
..they don't listen to us..
..they don't care how we feel, or how this impacts us..
..they're greedy for the money, the votes, and that's the bottom line.
I received a phone call connecting me to an open forum with Duncan Hunter, his son, and the radio commentator (I have no idea who it was)
It was a question/answer session LIVE from New Hampshire..(I think)...
It took me by surprise.. (even though I've signed up to do ANYTHING needed for this campaign)...but I've been a bit distracted with Christmas shopping and packing for a long trip.
..and I listened for over 30 minutes.
It was wonderful....Hunter sounded STRONG and unafraid....
..his son sounded just as articulate and strong...
Folks were calling in from Texas, New Hampshire, other states...
IT WAS ENCOURAGING!!!
My 'blues' disappeared, and I was reinvigorated :)))
He will not put up with this nonsense. I believe him that that damned double fence can be done and over with in SIX MONTHS.

HUNTER: Well, let me tell you, and this Bill that is going to be voted on today eliminates the mandate for the double-border fence. It says on page 23 that the secretary of homeland security doesn`t really have to build any fence if he doesn`t want to.
And it takes away the mandates that I had for Laredo, for Arizona. We were fencing the entire state of Arizona by May 30, as you know, of next year. So this thing guts the double-border fence.
BECK: OK.
HUNTER: Absolutely guts it. It`s good news for the drug pushers, good news for the smugglers, bad news for America.
BECK: I mean, you know, why worry about Laredo? There`s only 21 missing Americans in Laredo. Why worry about those people?
Sir, name names for me. Tell me who — let`s start developing a list on the people who are doing this in the cover of night. Who is standing in the way of the American people getting what they`re demanding?
HUNTER: Well — well, first the Democrat leadership. But Nancy Pelosi has said she never liked the border fence from the start, so I have to believe that this thing did not pass without the support of Nancy Pelosi.
Secondly, I think that the — I think that the senators from the border state — and I had 400 miles of double-border fence mandated for the state of Texas. Now there`s not a single inch mandated for the state of Texas. Homeland security could build fence in Texas, but the double-border fence, the 400 miles all the way from Laredo to Brownsville, is not mandated.
And I see, I think the Texas senators watered that down, and I think that the Democrat leadership on the — on the House of Representatives side went along with that.
I think that the president does not want to have fencing in the state of Texas. And I think Mr. Chertoff, who was head of homeland security, never wanted to have the double-border fence in the state of Texas or Arizona or New Mexico, for that matter. I think you`ll see some single fence going up. It will be much less effective.
BECK: In — in the last year we have had 1,000 attacks on our border guards. That is an increase of 38 percent. I was in Charleston, South Carolina, last weekend at a border guard recruitment camp. Nobody — nobody was there.
Why would you do that job? You`re being sold out every step of the way.
HUNTER: And Glenn, that`s why that double fence was so effective. Because, when you had the two fences with 150-foot-wide Border Patrol road in between, that was a — that gave us a margin of safety for the Border Patrolmen. It kept the guys on the other side, the smugglers from being able to throw rocks at them, from being able to shoot at them, from being able to cause diversions in moving people across with drugs or cross in another areas.

You can try e-mailing the Hunter campaign, but they probably don’t have enough staff to answer all of the e-mail they must receive, AND you can call talk shows to help Hunter out, and remind listeners of the radio shows that Hunter, as president, said will have the fence built in six months. He said he will have construction going in multiple places (I think he said 100 different places) to get it done in six months.

You gotta love politics! There has been a last minute change in Congressman Hunter’s schedule. Now all of you Michigan supporters have some extra time to get ready to meet him at the airport!
Becasue the votes in congress are running late he will be unable to make this evenings flight. Congressman Hunter will be arriving at Detroit Metro Airport Thursday morning at 8:07 AM via Northwest Flight 1223. Gate number A77 Macnamara Terminal.
Come greet Congressman Duncan Hunter when he gets off the plane at Flint Bishop Airport tonight!
Yes, it’s late notice but presidential candidates are very busy and plans change at the last minute!
If you can change your plans and come out please do!

Please try to arrive by 7:45 AM if possible so we can get organized and in case there are any last minute changes to the flight plan or arrival gate.

This thing will be like fighting cancer--periods of remission and then there will be times for aggressive treatment--no rest until the last welding torch is finished...
That is why we need a CIC with the balls to get it done.
