I think that Hillary is unable to trust people.

She lies to please whomever she is speaking to.
She blames Right Wing Conspiracies for her husband's troubles, rather than blaming her husband for his infidelity.

Her mother Dorothy's background may give a hint of the origins of the distrust .

Dorothy Rodham's background was far bleaker. When she was as young as 3, her parents often left her alone all day in a fifth-floor walk-up on Chicago's South Side. They divorced in the late 1920s, a rare shame in those days.

At age 8, Dorothy and her 3-year-old sister were dispatched by train to California to live with their grandmother, who was equally neglectful, once locking Dorothy in her room for several months, Clinton wrote.

I can understand, from Hillary's family background
why Hillary has such an "ivory tower" attitude toward life
why she has such impractical solutions for problems.
why she is a control freak trying to make everything perfect
I feel sorry for Hillary, but I don't want her messing up life for the rest of us.

Man, Hillary Clinton is much stupider than I originally thought.

Sir, I assure, you, Hillary is no fool!

Sir, I beg to differ. Her Senator career is without any accomplishments, her Presidential Campaign sails from gaff to scandal to incompetence and back again. She was inept as both a wife and mother. In fact, her accomplishments thru out her life are so few one has to wonder just WHERE she got this reputation for both toughness and competence.

I agree that her comments aren’t that farfetched. By “Appollo” she simply could have been referring to the space race in general (Sputnik in 1957), or Mercury (astronauts selected in 1959). I wouldn’t make too much of this, although for the smartest woman in the world to confuse Mercury with Appollo is “disappointing.” :-)

Also explains why she doesn't believe that nearly all parents are perfectly able to raise their own children, without a village's "help".

Why would the “world’s smartest woman” have to repeat 5th grade 3 times?

It as caught and commented on by a few FReepers on the Dem Debate thread just moments after she told her tall tale.

I’ve always thought that because you only see her after sunset that she’s probably 600-1000 years old.

Not even her husband can pull it off. It’s just that some people are willing to let it slide.

I'm Hillary's age and I have I have an old newspaper around, with a space race headline from 1957. The headline reads "Vanguard flops."

Here's what really happened around that time.
FROM SPUTNIK I TO TV-3

With a series of rumbles audible for miles around, the vehicle, having risen about four feet into the air, suddenly sank. Falling against the firing structure, fuel tanks rupturing as it did so, the rocket toppled to the ground on the northeast or ocean side of the structure in a roaring, rolling, ball-shaped volcano of flame.

TV-3 launch, 6 December 1957. Two seconds after launch,
when the vehicle was four feet off the pad, thrust ceased.
TV-3 crumpled on the pad and exploded.

More about Vanguard rockets

As a little girl, I remember being thrilled about that, and feeling there was something I could do. [Shrugs] My fifth-grade teacher said it was to study math and science, but it gave me an idea of actually contributing to my country.

Hey, Hillary, if you'd studied math and science, you might have actually contributed something to the country instead or working constantly to destroy it while contributing nothing to anyone in you entire miserable, despicable life.

Someone should ask Hillary if we should get the money for better math and science education by cutting back programs in women’s studies, queer theory, and the history of rock ‘n’ roll.

Did this happen the same year all those black churches were burning in Arkansas?

In 69 she would have been 22 years old which is about right the right age to graduate from a four year college.

I know because she just happened to be born on the same day I was, unfortunately.

I think it was just poorly worded. The thing she says she was thrilled by seems to be the idea of enlistment to serve your country. And the space program was just an example of that, not her specific inspiration.
