“one has to wonder just WHERE she got this reputation for both toughness and competence.”
Just ask Ron Brown, Vince Foster, or Jerry Parks.
“As far off the radar screen as her mother has been in recent years you would think she has been locked away in a dungeon somewhere.”
Who said it’s really Hill’s mother, and not just some aging actress needing a gig?
BTTT.
“one has to wonder just WHERE she got this reputation for both toughness and competence.”
An ad agency. A reallly, really good ad agency. One that can put lipstick on a pig and have some people believe that it really is Marilyn Monroe.
So is Hillary a fool or a fraud?
Both??
Yes, I was being sarcastic. I have no use for her,as she treated the Secret Service and AF One types like dogs. She is mean, spiteful, arrogant, and degrading to men serving her and this nation.
You are so right.
Free Republic itself, a "conservative" forum, disturbs me. There is not one out of five people on this forum who can adequately define conservatism (responsibility of the individual citizen to live his own decisions and expect the same from others). Much of that caused by the spin of the Media, the agenda of the "elite", and I guess by the very human nature of (insecure) people thinking they know more than others (and want to impose it on others).
Personally I think that Bill Clinton, in subtle and devious ways, represented, and fostered, a tragic turn in the American people, from a Weltanschaung of independence and dignity, to one of government dependence and blame. A turn from which we will never recover.
George Bush, either by intention or ineptitude, an instrument of the Council on Foreign relations, and having the bully pulpit for eight years, has done nothing to counter this. (Which would include of course taking on the Media head-on, like Fred Thompson did the other day).
We can check it in a few years, I save all these comments, but I think we have reached a tragic waypoint in what the United States, its Constitution, and its raison d'etaire (reason for being), was all about.
We are of course not alone; but it helps to verbalize and document it for future civilization if nothing else.
Hillary: “We’ve got to enlist the American people the way we did in a previous generation for the Apollo program. As a little girl, I remember being thrilled about that, and feeling there was something I could do. [Shrugs] My fifth-grade teacher said it was to study math and science, but it gave me an idea of actually contributing to my country.” Hillary Clinton was born in 1947.
