The discovery of two massive Viking halls in Borre in Vestfold County gives archeologists reason to reassess the distribution of power in Viking Norway.
Vestfold County archeologists presented finds on Wednesday that show there are two great hall buildings underneath the ground about 100 meters from the major burial mounds at Borre.

They are 6-6 with a tight schedule ahead. Bears, Redskins, Broncs and 49’ers. SF will not be a problem......

If Minnesota plays the way they have the last two weeks, all of those games are winnable.

Hoax? The Kensington Rune stone was considered a hoax by the media, and a bunch of self serving scientists for 90 years, and is now considered legitimate. See the following Web Site:
http://www.1362runestone.com/index.htm There was another Rune stone found in Oklahoma. They got to Minnesota via Hudson's Bay.

It's only the media that has ever pimped this thing, along with the Newport Tower, Gaven Menzies, Erich von Daniken, and the Abhominable Snowman. Real scientists haven't been fooled by this 19th century forgery "discovered" by a professional stonemason who just by coincidence also understand runes.

Hmmm. TWO great halls? Why two?
Might be separate halls for the Viking version for the Guelphs and the Ghibilines or Packer and Viking fans?

They may be from somewhat different dates. One burned down by accident (or not by...) and was replaced by one that burned down later. Or, they needed more space.

How boring your explanations are!
I like the idea of competing halls, with Viking cheerleaders urging on their troops with lusty cheers like:
“Ve’re from Oslo, as if you didn’t know it! Ve’ll kick your rural ass if you dare to show it!”
with the response:
“Trondheim, Narvik, Hammerfest and Bodo!
Run all over those fairies from Oslo!”

Interesting, thanks Fred. Someone I know online has a family history (centuries-old business records of some sort) regarding Scandinavian ancestors’ trade with the Far East via the then-open passage through the Arctic Ocean, IOW, west to east, south from the Bering Strait. Your map fits.

You’re just stuck on the idea of big, braided blonde cheerleaders.

That King’s Hall is probably the sort of place the old bards figured Beowulf hung around in. Different indeed from the stone ones in the movies.

The map’s nuts. There’s no evidence the Norse ventured beyond the coasts of northeastern North America, and the placing of Helluland, Markland, and Vinland on the Pacific Ocean is farcical.
