It's amazing, Mike Huckabee is one of the few politicians who would give the time of day to FR,
Gov. Huckabee's Thank you Letter to FReeper
and yet by some on FR they in mindless hyperbolic posts basically compare him to the plague.
JMO, some FReepers prove the axioms of "fair weather friends" and "no good deed goes unpunished" and also "watch your back", very true.
State governments yes. Federal government nope. Never intended. No matter what Tax em all Mike says about it.
So I’m ignorant because I find Huckabee’s position on immigration unacceptable? If not, perhaps I am instead somehow a back-stabber? HHHHMMMM? I just don’t know.
Well, I have not been to any gatherings so I cannot be accused of not showing him the door. Thanks for you judgments. Gooday.
“He’s acknowledging our rapidly changing demographics.”
Which is being done ILLEGALLY. Not that it matters to you or Huck.
“Huckabee does not support in-state tuition rates for illegal aliens.”
Statements like that are why we worry about Huck supporters.
Huckabee supported in-state tuition for illegal aliens...

I understand what you are saying. Do you also support the state’s right to choose the following:
a. slavery
b. giving citizenship rights to illegal aliens
c. abolishment of foreign tariffs
If no, then why? Also, would you support a constitutional personhood amendment for the constitution?
Personally I do not think states should have the right to legalize murder.
Huckster is a Conservative you say ?
See post 161 and please tell us just how Conservative the Huckster truly is .
Thank you Travis for providing a community service. This guy is a fraud. I don’t support an open borders, pro-illegal aliens candidate under any circumstances. I don’t care what his record on abortion or gay marriage is. If he isn’t for preserving American sovereignty, he doesn’t deserve any Republican’s vote. Iowa’s evangelicals better wake up. Huckabee’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
You should ask him to define conservative first. The definition is being changed very quickly.
Even if they are here illegally... Yeah... we got that...
Have you ever noticed that damn near nobody ever agrees with you here on FR?
Perhaps a la raza forum would be better for you.
Thanks, and I totally agree with your post.
BTW... in his speech, he mentions that the kid in questions family jumped the border when the kid was 4. Not a US Citizen.
Huge boooing of McCain when he attacked Ron Paul, saying his kind of isolationism led to WW2. Cheering when McCain gave kudos to the troops. Moderator told McCain that was not the question, gave RP 30 seconds to respond.
Whoops, crossed threads! That was a debate reply.
I’m supporting Mike Huckabee for president. He is a strong Christian conservative.
1st, Not aimed at you EEE but to avoid pointless flames from others, let me just say I'm supporting Fred not Rudy so don't bother going there
and with that being said the Huckster will be a way bigger disaster for the GOP then even Rudy would. If Huckabee is our nominee Hillary wins at least 40 states easily.
If Rudy is the nominee, 25% of the base will bolt, but with Rudy he at least could potentially make that up with the moderates and moderate democrats.
Huckabee on the other hand will have a good chuck of the other 75% bolt (2006 proved that the days of the fiscal conservatives/libertarians or what ever you want to call them holding their noses and voting for the lesser of 2 evils is over) and not only that he won't get any support from moderates, he will in fact drive them right to Hillary.
Fiscal conservatism wins every time while social conservatism repels. With the exception of gay marriage, every other social-con issue drives voters away, abortion went down in South Dakota, ban on stem cells went down in Missouri, Creationism went down in Kansas (in the Republican Primary no less), Judge Roy Moore went down in Alabama (Also in the Republican Primary), the polls were running 75% against the Republicans with that whole Terry Schivo mess, etc, etc.
If they can't win with those issues in those very red states there's no way a guy like the Huckster is going to appeal to the rest of the country.
So if we run a pure Social-Con with nothing on the fiscal side, it's over, not only will Hillary be POTUS we also might be looking at a 60+ rat seat majority in the senate.
So a big Hell no on Huckabee
And I consider myself a STRONG Conservative.
Go figure. ;^)
Say “President Huckabee” 50 times without laughing
I think it’s pretty much his liberal stance on stuff. Like wanting surrender to Mexico. Anyone who wants to surrender to another power, without even the ceremony of a war, isn’t fit for public office.
