A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I received this in my email June 10th, 2006 - the author is unknown. I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

Doing Well
READ: James 1:1-13
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well. James 2:8 In the book Flags of Our Fathers, James Bradley recounts the World War II battle of Iwo Jima and its famous flag-raising on Mount Suribachi. Bradleys father, John, was one of the flag-raisers. But more important, he was a Navy corpsmana medic.
In the heat of battle, facing a barrage of bullets from both sides, Bradley exposed himself to danger so he could care for the wounded and dying. This self-sacrifice showed his willingness and determination to care for others, even though it meant placing himself at great personal risk.
Doc Bradley won the Navy Cross for his heroism and valor, but he never spoke of it to his family. In fact, it was only after his death that they learned of his military decorations. To Doc, it wasnt about winning medals; it was about caring for his buddies.
In James 2:8 we read: If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well. By intentionally seeking to care for others in the way that we would hope to be treated, James says we do well. The word well means rightly, nobly, so there is no room for blame.
Selflessly doing well expresses the heart of God, and fulfills His law of love.
Let the road be rough and dreary,
And its end far out of sight;
Foot it bravely, strong or weary;
Trust in God and do the right. Macleod
Love is at the heart of obedience.

Lovely, Snugs!! We pay hearty tribute to our British ally veterans also. It is a big day in Canada, and when googling for images, learned about the Canadian tributes. I wear my poppy from the American Legion, in memory of all and in particular of SGT Robert T. Ayres, III, buried here at Los Angeles National Cemetery on October 10, 2007.
In Memory...
We remember and honor the loss of our British and American troops, Allies and Coalition.

What an absolute wonderful vacation. That London Eye is huge, isn’t it? Bet it was thrilling though. I noticed the ice cream truck and thought “how great”....guess there are some who like ice cream in November. I do as long as I am in my warm house!! Quite a trip...by the way, checked your Profile Page and loved it!!!

Poppies are so symbolic of that first Armistise Day I am so glad that we still keep the tradition up and that so many children wear them proudly.
By the way I cannot spell did you see I type reef instead of wreath.

Lovely trip you had; you tell a good story. I’m looking forward to seeing some photos. I’ve visited 26 of our states and Ohio isn’t one of them yet.

I know you continue to worry about him & know that mom & I have him in our prayers here in Ohio. Awww....thank you, Dolly and your mom. I have told Chach that he is a very special little boy to have so many people praying for him. JK and I appreciate it so much.
He seems to be doing a little better each day and is, right now, being a complete pest, wanting me to play with him. Guess I had better go and see if I can play "gently" with him. He has so much energy and thinks that he is completely better.

Thanks for that great graphic of “The Oath.”
Take note, there’s no expiration date.
Had a GREAT service in church this morning honoring Vets. At the end of the service, a Vietnam Vet who was a part of the planning for today’s service, turned the tables and presented the senior pastor and congregation a flag that had been flown in a combat zone in Iraq. He expressed the thoughts that many of us feel - All those family members at home who support our troops with cards, letters, care-packages and prayer deserve a special recognition.
Salute to my fellow vets and those who keep/kept the homefires burning.
We’re attending a program this afternoon at the new Gallo Performing Arts Center honoring our Veterans. Tucked a handkerchief into the my Dress Blues this morning and got a fresh one out for this afternoon. Must be a sinus condition... :)
