Ad showing 'homosexual' newborn causes stir in Italy
Breitbart ^ | 10/24/2007

An ad campaign to counter discrimination against gays has stirred up passions in Italy, using a poster that shows a newborn with the word "homosexual" written on his wristband.

"Sexual orientation is not a choice," reads the slogan on the poster that was going up all across the central-northern Tuscany region and was published in national newspapers Wednesday.

"Using newborns to make people believe that homosexual impulses are an innate characteristic is dishonest and a disgrace," said Christian Democratic lawmaker Luca Volonte.

Gay philosopher Gianni Vattimo said the ad was in "bad taste" and that the slogan was "only partly true."

Italy's main gay rights association ArciGay, for its part, praised the initiative, saying homosexuality is an "unchangeable fact that should be respected."

Actually, they want it classified as part of their DNA makeup (thus the bogus search for a “gay gene”) or of it being some condition they cannot overcome.

Why?

ADA protection and other civil-rights protections.

It is a lifestyle, a preference, like preferring one type of mate to another, though you could get by with most, and therefore deserving of no protection.

That’s the angle we need to push to protect the traditional, Biblical definition of family

Thanks for the clarification. Even though I’m a Superman fan, never had time to see the show; but I’ve thought about checking it out on DVD. Your initial remark made me uneasy about seeing the show ... Heck, I still haven’t gotten over “Superman” kiss Michael Caine in Deathtrap.

here is the trap you set for yourself.

If it is anything “biblical” the homosexuals can use it against use as seperation of religion and state. (set aside the first amendment issues for the moment and just follow) The debate alone has you at a disadvantage in the bias of the courts.

HOWEVER, if you argue it as a societal institution. Society rewards the INSTITUTION which promotes societies future. The family where a child has ONE defined mother and ONE defined father is ensuring of the future of society. Now this is parallel to the biblical definitions HOWEVER it is not attackable because it is a scientific and independent social construct. You get a two for one argument.

you contemporaneously defeat two momies or two dadies arguemnts and continue to keep mother and father from being four letter words.

What about aborting based on a gene test showing tendencies toward homosexuality -

their heads would explode.

Well I must be very very innocent because I never piked up anything remotely like that. Although I admit that I watch the show for the eye candy. The chicks that play lois lane and clark’s cousin are truly magnificent young ladies of the feminine gender.

So let’s get this straight. Sexual preference is 100% genetically determined, while intelligence is 100% environmentally determined. Got it.

Homosexuality might not be a “choice,” but putting your wee wee in someone’s bottom *is* a choice.

>"Clark, why do you keep that icky girl around here?! I have the cool Porsche!"

It is very good.
Season four's my favorite.
And the DVD's

have commentaries.
Rosenbaum (Lex) on one jokes
about the subtext

(but I think that was
a season three episode).
The commentary

on "Spell," season four,
has Lana, Chloe, Lois
laughing about Clark

and Jason always
finding plot reasons to touch...
But it's a great show.

I don't know the idea of family should be restricted to Biblical. Family is the same all over the world. This is how humankind works. The only difference might be the number of spouses. There has never been any approval for same sex unions anyplace significant in history. If we talk about a 'Biblical' definition, this give the impression it's solely a religious institution. It isn't.

It is to obscure for me.

Wait! A bald guy and a person named Clark. It must be about Superman. I'm guessing the girl is Lana Lang. Therefore, those three must be actors on the TV Show Smallville.

See, I still have the gift of reason.

I feel that I am additionally blessed with never having seen the show.

If you want to see a liberal stammer, ask him what his opinion is about folks having abortions if they think the baby is gay.

Norman Coordinate! Abortion is everypne's right, but Gayness is to be embraced; yet a woman's right can not be questioned, but how could she not want a Gay son? Illogical! Illogical! Please explain! Norman Coordinate! Norman Coordinate!

You lie, but if everything you say is a lie then you must be telling the truth, but you cannot be telling the truth because everything you say is a lie... you lie, you tell the truth, you– Illogical! Illogical! Please explain!

Homosexuals seem to have no moral boundaries. To intentionally now involve an innocent infant into their disgusting lifestyle choice is beyond imagination. These freaks need to leave our kids alone.

“There was news story that a homosexual scientists was going to REdo the twin studies to “confirm” the gene link.”

Politics and Science should never mix. In fact, any scientist that politicizes his research is a disgrace who should be thrown out of the profession.

When I used the term Biblical, I was not suggesting it as a bedrock of jurisprudence, but as a root of where the definition of family and marriage came from for Western civ.

That said, there are gays who toy with the idea of gay marriage, but who know that theirs would not be a marriage in the eyes of God, only of the state, which largely defeats their purpose (of being accepted as a normal family). Also, the Biblical argument for marriage is for procreation. Like it or not, those laws are still on the books in 39 states, and have their rooting in the Biblical definition of marriage and family. Those state constitutions and laws simply don’t make a direct connection, but the influence is there.

All I was saying is that we need to defend traditional marriage at two fronts: the personal front when the topic is brought up around us, and the legislative front when it comes time to draft legislation and vote. The two fronts are not fought in the same manner.

I still don’t get it. Guess I’ll be satisfied with the Erica durance and that chick that plays Clark’s cous. And not be concerned by any homo erotica that is read into it. My hands are clean and my thoughts are pure.
