Remember politicians don't lead they follow. They are not the government. The people are the government. They will only support or oppose a position because we allow them. Many will try to deceive you into believing otherwise. The people spoke up against amnesty for illegal aliens and the Congress Critters withered under the wrath of the people and changed their minds. We can have the same effect on other issues including, abortion, gay rights, free speech, free religion, gun control, property rights, federalism, judicial activism, illegal aliens, socialized healthcare, taxes, spending, national security, sovereignty.

RINO's are socialists in conservative clothing. They have so compromised their values in the end they have none and they are willing to suck the rest of us in with them. Don't think like them. Sometimes things are black and white with perfect clarity. Your principles are one of those things. We should be as uncompromising with our principles as our troops are determined with theirs to defend our country. Otherwise their fight will have been in vain.

I wish we had these clear-cut choices as you seem to think we have. I can't think of a single past Republican nominee who meets all the requirements you list.

Which of the list did Reagan not meet?

I think in our current political climate, we may need to either go third party or write in a conservative candidate if the chosen one (by the GOP) doesn't meet the criteria. In the primaries, though, we have a real choice.

BTW, great list. If/when I follow it, I'm sure I won't ever regret voting for someone later. I've also learned this lesson the hard way.

1) Never vote for anyone who loves their own personal gain more than the United States of America. For example, Ronald Reagan loved America whereas the Clinton's and Bushes love some weird new world order, tri lateral commission and their money.

2) Never vote for anyone who says that they will raise taxes on gasoline.

3) Never vote for anyone will take your gun away from you.

4) Never vote for anyone who will cede our sovereignty to the UN or any other foreign entity (to make us interdependent on other nations) Never vote for anyone that promises more globalization and immigration.

5) Never vote for anyone who wants to make us Nation Builders, that we are going to democratize the Middle East or the world.

Border security, for one.

I could vote for Duncan Hunter but not with the enthusiasm I would have for Fred Thompson.

Fred seems to fill ALL the criteria.

Hunter is weak on property rights, IMHO, and won’t do much to shrink the federal government either, IMHO.

Also, Hunter has less traction than either Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee, both of whom also fail key test criteria. None of these three will prove viable in the end, in any case.

It will come down to Thompson, Romney, or Giuliani.

Given that field, there really isn’t any reason to hesitate.

Never ever support or vote for a known RINO. They'll betray you every time and you'll always regret it in the end.

Absolutely true. One needs to look no further for evidence of that than the governorship of Arnold Schwarzenegger in California.

It's really a disappointment that Rush Limbaugh and other prominent conservatives in positions of power don't have the wisdom you just shared with us.

Never vote for the lesser of two evils. If both candidates are evil, write in someone who isn’t.

I was referring to Dobson mentioning that there is a candidate that has all of his personal and moral requirements, and he’s out of California. If he mentioned him at all, or even hinted at an endorsement for the candidate from California, he’d go from 1% to 10% overnight.

"Never ever vote for or support a known abortionist."

Big bump.
That would be voting for or supporting a supporter of murder.

1) Never vote for anyone who was a member of the Skull and Bones Society or from Yale.

2) Never vote for anyone that will teach your children to become sodomites.

3) Never vote for a lawyer.

Border security, for one.

Ok, you got me there. I was thinking of him as a candidate and of his track record as governor of CA since we're thinking of this list as a precursor to selecting a candidate. During his presidency, he did blow it. No doubt about that. And the reasons we heard later about how the Dems promised border security and that he admitted amnesty was a big mistake don't take away that it was his responsibility. But you gotta admit, his calling it amnesty and saying it was a mistake is heads above what the current administration is doing.

Never vote for anyone who comes from a political family, for example, Kennedy, Bush, or Clinton.

Boy, you are an optimist! I think a Dobson endorsement would double Hunter's numbers from 1% to 2%.
