JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. An undercover investigation into public sex in Johnson City parks has led to the arrest of 40 men in two weeks.
"Our parks are for family use. People should not be exposed to this while they are out there with their family or trying to enjoy the walking trails," Johnson City Police Chief John Lowry said. "They are not built nor maintained for sexual activity, be it homosexual activity or heterosexual activity."
The investigation in the Winged Deer and Buffalo Mountain parks began after police received complaints from the public.
"Part of this took place off the paved trails. There's a thing out there (at Winged Deer Park) they've evidently termed the 'Man Cave,"' Lowry said. "It's a good way off the paved trail. It's underbrush that's grown up and resembles a cave."
As part of the investigation, undercover officers would strike up conversations with men approaching a trail leading to the Man Cave. Some of those conversations led to proposals for sex and several men exposed themselves or groped the officers, police said.
The suspects from Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina ranged in age from 26 to 85.

It could be ANYONE! It is not reserved for Catholic priests. Some denominations like the Episcopals are accepting of them being in the priesthood such as the one McGreevy signed up with. As for schools, I’d bet it was a public school - the benefits and pay are typically better and they can get away with nearly anything. In private schools there is NO TENURE or unions there to keep you there.

That doesn’t really work with the ladies...
That’s awful.
I doubt they’ll find a “cure”. Now they just prolong their life. They’ll keep contracting it because of their life style CHOICE.
I had the privilege of being in school at Cullowhee when the drinking age was 18. Still had to drive 7 miles to Sylva to get it. My friends a few years ahead of me when I was there had to drive 25 miles or so to Waynesville to get booze before Jackson Co. went wet.
I feel NO GUILT for someone who takes their life, by CHOICE. It’s too bad this individual REFUSED to get help and took the cowardly way out - suicide. All of his actions were CHOICES. It is also RIGHT to condemn this hideous life style CHOICE.
Perhaps, the shame of this man who took his life, repented before he committed suicide. His ending may not be as sad if he reached out to Christ. Without Christ, all are already condemned - homosexual and straight.
Boone was dry so we did the 7 mile drive to Blowing Rock. Ya gotta love those mountain schools.
If you look at these mug shots, these guys don’t look “typical”. These are your garden variety perverts who take an “any old port in a storm” attitude towards this stuff.
I remember being warned about Ogunquit Beach. Do “they” still own it?

Four firefighters were reprimanded and heavily fined after disturbing an illegal outdoor gay sex romp - because the men accused them of being homophobic.

This needs to be appealed until justice is served. We can’t allow this country to become a Sodom and Gomorrah - in the open like this.
As well he should!
One less hypocrite.
Perhaps this will FORCE him to get the spiritual help he desperately needs.
This story happened in Britain, but I can easily see it happening here as well.
“I blame the Pope for this Roger Riley situation. None of this would have happened if he hadnt forbidden Baptist pastors to marry.”
LOL!
I don’t blame the pope. Over the years the pope has had issues with homosexual priests. So remianing unmarried doesn’t matter. It’s the fault of those engaging in this stuff. There are MANY organizations out there that will help a homosexual turn around.

None of them have to engage in this perverted CHOICE.
They look like Libertarians.
Preferably Iran.
Let the idiot experience this “phenomenon”.
Never mind that they hanged to gay kids and continue to hang them for being homosexual.
Both of these parks are really great family places, so they needed to be cleaned up. Buffalo Mountain overlooks the city from the south. Winged Deer is on the lake at the north. There's an adjacent kids' soccer field. Damn time they cleaned this up!
Yep! However, I can only imagine what goes on now over at Holston Lake since these fellers were already at this park.
Do they still own it?
Totally.
But c'mon! Its the 21st century! GET THEE TO CRAIG'S LIST closet queens!
And yes, everyone in Nassau County knows about the eastern end of Jones Beach. A shame, as that would be the best place to park your beach chair, as it is away from the crowds near the old (NON-gay) bathhouses that Moses built.
Looks like the Ramble in Central Park.
