JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — An undercover investigation into public sex in Johnson City parks has led to the arrest of 40 men in two weeks.
"Our parks are for family use. People should not be exposed to this while they are out there with their family or trying to enjoy the walking trails," Johnson City Police Chief John Lowry said. "They are not built nor maintained for sexual activity, be it homosexual activity or heterosexual activity."
The investigation in the Winged Deer and Buffalo Mountain parks began after police received complaints from the public.
"Part of this took place off the paved trails. There's a thing out there (at Winged Deer Park) they've evidently termed the 'Man Cave,"' Lowry said. "It's a good way off the paved trail. It's underbrush that's grown up and resembles a cave."
As part of the investigation, undercover officers would strike up conversations with men approaching a trail leading to the Man Cave. Some of those conversations led to proposals for sex and several men exposed themselves or groped the officers, police said.
The suspects from Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina ranged in age from 26 to 85.

In Great Britain (which is living up to Orwell’s 1984 predictions), some local firemen were sentenced for the “crime” of homophobia, because they had shined their fire-truck’s spotlight on a section of a public park where four men were having sex. You know d&*^% well that if it had been two men and two women, the group of four would have been prosecuted and not the firemen.

Why don’t they do a sting there and ARREST them for indecent exposure? The city could jail them or fine the hell out of them and make some money. This stuff has to be stopped. It just goes to show how out of control these people are.
We used to drive to Johnson City to buy liquor when I was at App. You could buy liquor at 18 in TN.

They are emotionally disturbed and act out sexually to over come that emotional void. Often they are abused, physically or emotionally ... and of course like an old family receipe they do it to others. It’s a trgaic lifestyle that offers NO peace and NO joy.

It is a CHOICE to remain disturbed. I feel NO GUILT if someone takes their life out of shame of being caught. NO ONE held a gun to their head or took their life - the INDIVIDUAL made that CHOICE too - rejected help.
