Forty Men Arrested for Having Sex in Tennessee Public Parks

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — An undercover investigation into public sex in Johnson City parks has led to the arrest of 40 men in two weeks.

"Our parks are for family use. People should not be exposed to this while they are out there with their family or trying to enjoy the walking trails," Johnson City Police Chief John Lowry said. "They are not built nor maintained for sexual activity, be it homosexual activity or heterosexual activity."

The investigation in the Winged Deer and Buffalo Mountain parks began after police received complaints from the public.

"Part of this took place off the paved trails. There's a thing out there (at Winged Deer Park) they've evidently termed the 'Man Cave,"' Lowry said. "It's a good way off the paved trail. It's underbrush that's grown up and resembles a cave."

As part of the investigation, undercover officers would strike up conversations with men approaching a trail leading to the Man Cave. Some of those conversations led to proposals for sex and several men exposed themselves or groped the officers, police said.

The suspects from Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina ranged in age from 26 to 85.

My Dog Named Sex

Submitted By: funnyjunk

Everybody I know who has a dog usually calls him “Rover” or “Spot”. I call mine Sex. Now, Sex has been very embarrassing to me. When I went to the City Hall to renew the dog’s license, I told the clerk that I would like a license for Sex. He said, “I would like to have one too!” Then I said, “But she is a dog!” He said he didn’t care what she looked like. I said, “You don’t understand. ... I have had Sex since I was nine years old.” He replied, “You must have been quite a strong boy.” When I decided to get married, I told the minister that I would like to have Sex at the wedding. He told me to wait until after the wedding was over. I said, “But Sex has played a big part in my life and my whole world revolves around Sex.” He said he didn’t want to hear about my personal life and would not marry us in his church. I told him everyone would enjoy having Sex at the wedding. The next day we were married at the Justice of the Peace. My family was barred from the church from then on.

When my wife and I went on our honeymoon, I took the dog with me. When we checked into the motel, I told the clerk that I wanted a room for me and my wife and a special room for Sex. He said that every room in the motel is a place for sex. I said, “You don’t understand. ... Sex keeps me awake at night.” The clerk said, “Me too!”

One day I entered Sex in a contest. But before the competition began, the dog ran away. Another contestant asked me why I was just looking around. I told him that I was going to have Sex in the contest. He said that I should have sold my own tickets. “You don’t understand,” I said, “I hoped to have Sex on TV.” He called me a show off.

When my wife and I separated, we went to court to fight for custody of the dog. I said, “Your Honor, I had Sex before I was married but Sex left me after I was married.” The Judge said, “Same here!”

Last night Sex ran off again. I spent hours looking all over for her. A cop came over and asked me what I was doing in the alley at 4 o’clock in the morning. I said, “I’m looking for Sex.” — My case comes up next Thursday.

Well now I’ve been thrown in jail, been divorced and had more damn troubles with that dog than I ever foresaw. Why just the other day when I went for my first session with the psychiatrist, she asked me, “What seems to be the trouble?” I replied, “Sex has been my best friend all my life but now it has left me for ever. I can’t live any longer being so lonely.” and the doctor said, “Look mister, you should understand that sex isn’t a man’s best friend so go get yourself a dog.”

Disgusting. The park I used to go to day camp as a kid is now a pickle park, so of course no one brings their kids there anymore. But hey, it’s just colorful part of queer culture and we should celebrate diversity.../s

According to the local news article (linked from Fox), Robert Riley is the minister. They do not mention at what church. Similarly, the do not specify where in the school system the school system employee is employed.

“That is very common in Tennessee, especially in the smaller towns. If you get arrested in the town I live in, your name, address and age are in the paper and on the radio. Crime doesn’t pay here. LOL”

WHOA!

We don’t do that in cesspool NJ. Wish we did!

I LIKE that idea.

Me too. Of course, I'm used to it. Most of the local papers carry the jail dockets, complete with name, age, and address. Some friends of ours from Toronto came to visit and we were listening to the radio when they started announcing the jail dockets. They couldn't believe it! They said names and addresses were never posted in Toronto if you were arrested. I thought that it was the norm all over.

Shame can be a wonderful deterrent. :-) Just don't get arrested in a small town in TN if you don't want the whole country to know about it.

The Johnson City police and politicos are the worst hypocrytes imaginable. The queer occupation has spread from the designated containment area at Buffalo Mountian to Winged Deer.

Buffalo Mountain could be a wonderful park but is a known queerzone and people stay away. It has great series of trails to the top of the mountain. I was hiking the trail and as I approached my car on the return, met a camaflouged police officer who was in the understory watching the park. He engaged us in conversation and we saw he was watchingseveral vans in the picnic area . There were no people in sight..... they were apparently in the vans. This was years ago. Something bad must have happened again. They had a gruesome bloody knife muder there five years ago.

For the record.... Buffalo Mountain has tons of American Chestnut trees on its slopes.

There must be a 'queer zone' in every area where middle aged white men cruise. There is a section of beach and beautiful scrub forest just east of Jones Beach on Long Island that qualifies.

When I was a kid (early sixties) there was 'humorous' surf-map of Long Island beaches and surf spots. That map named that area the 'queer zone' and in the nearly fifty years since nothing has changed. I won't ever hike there alone for fear of being considered one of them and I can't ever take my grand-kids there for the obvious reasons.

Everyone knows about it but the politicos won't let the NCPD do a thing.
