Radiological checkpoints being set up by the NYPD in the five boroughs of New York City
Thanks JJ, I hope all goes well.
Wish we had a direct connection to Ray Kelley.
That thread just got pulled, LOL.
We wouldn’t want to show too much emotion!!
(check your personal mail)
The story broke on our local news here about 45 minutes ago. This is definitely something to keep an eye on!!!
“nuclear” can also mean “radiological” . . . have any of the local stations given a source for this unverified threat?

” . . .CW 11 television news reported that the police reaction was in response to an unverified threat of a nuclear device in the 34th Street area of Manhattan.”
Indeed. Thanx again for the heads-up!
The NYPD is not doing this for show. They aren’t giving us the full story. Stay safe and vigilant!!!
Thanks, Joe.
Ping to Milford.
I’m convinced those University of South Florida “students” nabbed in S.C. have some connection to this.
Thanks Rushmore.

NY police receive “unverified radiological threat”
Fri Aug 10, 2007 11:06PM EDT
NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York city police increased security throughout Manhattan on Friday and at bridges and tunnels in response to what they called an “unverified radiological threat,” but said the city’s alert status remained unchanged.
The New York Police Department said in a statement it has increased the deployment of radiological sensors on vehicles, boats and helicopters and had set up vehicle checkpoints in lower Manhattan and at bridges and tunnels.
Police confirmed the increased security was in response to receiving information that a dirty bomb may go off around 34th street in Manhattan on Friday evening.
The Empire State Building, New York City’s tallest building, Madison Square Garden and Macy’s department store are in the 34th Street neighborhood.
A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security in Washington said they assessed the radiological threat to New York as “unsubstantiated” and there was “no credible information telling us there is an imminent threat to the homeland at this time.”
New York has remained on an orange alert — the second highest such level, below red — since the September 11, 2001, attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center.
And here’s another one:

PUBLISHED October 2006
From an August 23, 2004, video recording presented by the prosecution as evidence in the case of United States v. Shahawar Matin Siraj. On May 24, Siraj, a twenty-four-year-old Pakistani immigrant living in Queens, was found guilty on four counts of bombing conspiracy. The defense argued that Siraj had been entrapped by Osama Eldawoody, a fifty-year-old Egyptian-born police informant. Eldawoody first approached Siraj, who was working at an Islamic bookstore, in 2003, and was reportedly paid $100,000 by law-enforcement officers to record his conversations with Siraj and James Elshafay, Siraj’s friend and codefendant. Elshafay, a schizophrenic twenty-one-year-old resident of Staten Island, pleaded guilty in October 2004 and testified against Siraj.
* * *OSAMA ELDAWOODY: Brother Nazeem upstate is very, very happy, very impressed. He says about the Verrazano, it’s a little bit complicated. We are not that big, that strong, it’s too heavy for us, things like that. He says, in time. The plan is perfect, but it needs a nuclear bomb, not a regular bomb. So he says that will be later. 34th Street is on. (snip)
