In regards to your story...interesting that you told that one. I have a housecleaning business and charge about $100 for a general clean on a 1,500 sq. foot house. (Of course, that can vary depending upon the cleaning needs.)
No, I would say you were more than fair in your price.

While perhaps in a very narrow sense you could say this could be excluded I think this is absolutely relevant to the case. Someone this vile would display a personality that would put me on guard if I were in enforcement. I would certainly want a BP to do everything to keep these people out of our country and it looks like Sutton is doing everything to have these people roam and terrorize the US.
That home she cleaned for me BTW, was vacant and had new carpet, paint and vinyl...so it wasn't back-breaking to get it up to our standards for marketing purposes.
BTW, she worked for four hours on my home...so that was $25 @ hr with tip....hardly exploiting illegal immigrants, IMO.

BTW, I think you must have meant to say you paid her $50 an hour plus the tip, since she worked 4 hours...right? I wish I could earn that kind of money on a vacant house, but no way here in L.A. We have too many illegals cleaning houses for next to nothing, so competition is pretty stiff. As much as I'd like to give away my services - and housecleaning is very hard work - I cannot do that. I have a family to feed, and there are only five in my house...not thirty!

It always takes 4 girls about 4 hours to complete the job. So $250 seems right.
They supply the materials. Remember, the places are vacant (easier to clean)
She took a day and a half to do the $250 job. I couldn't help but hope that she got a helper and paid that helper the $80 she would have accepted. But that's thinking like a businessman. ;^)

Jorge wants illegals to be able to cross the border, that's his policy. Sutton is a Bush favorite and knows this. Ramos and Compean were obstacles to easy border crossing for illegals. Sutton knew that there would be no negative consequences from Bush if he took an opportunity to remove Ramos and Compean and send a message to other BP agents on aggressive border enforcement as opposed to donut eating.
BTW, on MY general cleans I do get on my hands and knees and scrub the floors and baseboards, bleach out showers, and clean ceiling fan blades.

That's the impression I get from the investigative reports I linked. Not only that - the jurors were not informed that Ramos was (until this incident) a poster boy for the Border Patrol...literally.
I want to know why Homeland Security agent Sanchez acted as protector/defender for such a vile non-citizen and why he's not called to account for that. It appears that this agent has rights and privileges that regular citizens and most law enforcement personnel do not enjoy.

The following is an overview of federal law on hiring and harboring illegal aliens. It is not a substitute for professional legal counsel in specific situations. Summary
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization or local government) commits a federal felony when he:
* assists an alien whom he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him to obtain employment,
* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S., by referring him to an employer, by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.
Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime.
Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.
Recruitment and Employment of Illegal Aliens
It is unlawful to hire an alien, to recruit an alien, or to refer an alien for a fee, knowing the alien is unauthorized to work in the United States.1 It is equally unlawful to continue to employ an alien knowing that the alien is unauthorized to work.2 Employers may give preference in recruitment and hiring to a U.S. citizen over an alien with work authorization only where the U.S. citizen is equally or better qualified.
3 It is unlawful to hire an individual for employment in the United States without complying with employment eligibility verification requirements.
4 Requirements include examination of identity documents and completion of Form I-9 for every employee hired. Employers must retain all I-9s, and, with 3 days advance notice, they must be made available for inspection.
An employer has constructive knowledge that an employee is an illegal unauthorized worker if a reasonable person would infer it from the facts.
Constructive knowledge constituting a violation of federal law has been found where (1) the I-9 employment eligibility form has not been properly completed, including supporting documentation, (2) the employer has learned from other individuals, media reports, or any source of information available to the employer, that the alien is unauthorized to work, or (3) the employer acts with reckless disregard for the legal consequences of permitting a third party to provide or introduce an illegal alien into the employer’s work force.11 Knowledge cannot be inferred solely on the basis of an individual’s accent or foreign appearance. Actual specific knowledge is not required. For example, a newspaper article stating that ballrooms depend on an illegal alien workforce of dance hostesses was held by the courts to be a reasonable ground for suspicion that unlawful conduct had occurred.

Based on the evidence I’ve seen these men are heroes not deserving of the railroaded treatment they’ve gotten. It’s time they were pardoned and now.
