No you didn't say I was breaking any laws. It was a follow-up reference to another poster's insistance that I knowlingly break the law by hiring companies that may employ illegal aliens.

That home she cleaned for me BTW, was vacant and had new carpet, paint and vinyl...so it wasn't back-breaking to get it up to our standards for marketing purposes.

BTW, she worked for four hours on my home...so that was $25 @ hr with tip....hardly exploiting illegal immigrants, IMO.

BTW, I think you must have meant to say you paid her $50 an hour plus the tip, since she worked 4 hours...right? I wish I could earn that kind of money on a vacant house, but no way here in L.A. We have too many illegals cleaning houses for next to nothing, so competition is pretty stiff. As much as I'd like to give away my services - and housecleaning is very hard work - I cannot do that. I have a family to feed, and there are only five in my house...not thirty!
