And to best of my recollection, you've never done that to me. ;^)

Well, I just calls 'em as I sees em.

In regards to your story...interesting that you told that one. I have a housecleaning business and charge about $100 for a general clean on a 1,500 sq. foot house. (Of course, that can vary depending upon the cleaning needs.)

No, I would say you were more than fair in your price.

As for breaking laws...dunno...I never said you did, did I?

No you didn't say I was breaking any laws. It was a follow-up reference to another poster's insistance that I knowlingly break the law by hiring companies that may employ illegal aliens.

That home she cleaned for me BTW, was vacant and had new carpet, paint and vinyl...so it wasn't back-breaking to get it up to our standards for marketing purposes.

BTW, she worked for four hours on my home...so that was $25 @ hr with tip....hardly exploiting illegal immigrants, IMO.

I think a "general clean" isn't what we needed.

Isn't general clean...a bi-weekly visit by Mighty Maids? I mean...they don't get down on the hands and knees and scrub baseboards and door and window frames...wash screens/window glass...ceiling fan blades.

It always takes 4 girls about 4 hours to complete the job. So $250 seems right.

They supply the materials. Remember, the places are vacant (easier to clean)
