It boils down to that our politicians are for sale. It is that simple. Lets not even talk about sugar, and those damned beet farmers/corn syrup manufacturers.
I see several FReepers gave you good recommendations. Here’s another, an online mag (also bimonthly hardcopies) written BY Americans FOR Americans:
You may have to subscribe to enjoy the full benefit, though you won’t regret it. When Mother Earth News began to go eco-liberal, many of their readers switched to Backwoods Home.
Contributor Jackie Clay and her son homestead, living as off grid as possible. Sadly, they lost their husband/father a couple of years ago. Jackie writes excellent articles that cover every aspect of homesteading as well as food preparation, and stands ready to answer readers’ questions. Admirable lady.
I’m too lazy to live as she does, though the more I learn about our food sources, the more I’m considering at least growing my own veggies. Dunno, I have a pretty brown thumb!
Maybe Al Gore could have a bad hair day. That’d give them something to cover.
Set out a light for them. They will feast on high protein bugs, keeping them from your garden...
Here we go...I knew I had changed my dog for the third time and again from the frying pan, into the fire, and me right along with him.
Iceburg...for sure.
Global warming is not going to shrink this one! LOL
Throwing up Purina Naturals Dry for Dogs here...now cooking chicken and rice...now the chicken is a problem...what next?
Small animals are being effected first? Mine is 10 lbs. Just about like many big cats.
That’s a terrific idea! Thanks! It’s nearly time for June Bugs; nasty little critters...
I hope it’s your DOG throwing up (wink). Hmmm, there is “corn gluten meal” in the Purina Naturals (for cats) ingreds. Same on the dog version? Purina Friskies has the same thing. Bravo that you are cooking for the dog. I am STILL not quite motivated to cook for the cats. I did about 6 months a long time ago of giving my then cats a raw diet. I got sick of dealing with raw meat all the time.
The healthiest kids I ever met have all been dairy farm kids and they ALL drank their milk raw.
prion disease? Is that the same as mad cow?
I still remember churning butter from the cream we separated off the milk so some of her customers could have skim milk, and ohhhhhh the homemade ice cream!
In Arizona?
Healthy doctors have been saying don’t nuke anything in or on plastic — they may be right... and watch for dishes from China — may contain lead.
BTTT!!!!!!
They added melamine and cyanuric acid to the urine. The theory that both compounds were added to the contaminated pet food (rather than the cyanuric acid being a metabolic by-product produced by the melamine in the cats' systems) seems to be gaining ground, as per CNN's story up now:
The FDA is also admitting they don't know how long Chinese imports containing melamine have been in the US system, since adding it is apparently such a widespread practice in China. If the Menu Foods batches contained both cyanuric acid and melamine, it might explain why that particular wheat gluten was so toxic.

Looks like good knowledge to have. Thanks for the link. You’re right about the hard work!
Son of a gun... so there is an Amish Resturant between Phoenix and Flagstaff.. learn something new every day. We are in NW Arizona, but this is interesting to know if we ever go down that way. Thanks.
