Thanks.
Why am I not surprised. Dad and I have to get busy and find that 5 acre piece of land....
Even if this wasn’t meant to be a test, it tells any of our enemies that we aren’t prepared to handle this kind of thing. I think they missed the obvious when they focused on domestic production as being a way for terrorists to work but because trade policy is soooo political they tended to ignore it.
Shhhhhhh, it might telegraph how vulnerable we are.
Thanks for the Ping! I did talk to my ‘Norwegian Bachelor Farmer’ guys at the feed mill. They said not to worry, and to use their house brand because it’s all locally grown. Ya can’t swing a dead cat three-quarters of the year without hitting a corn stalk in these parts!
They’re very accommodating because small-time people like me are their Bread & Butter. After the “Mad Cow” scare of yore, they started making up blood-free meals, too. I started using them back then.
Right now, the hens are just getting local cracked corn and free ranging around the yard. They’ve also discovered that if they hang out beneath the bird feeding station, they get a treat once in a while, too.
However, if any are caught scratching in the newly-planted garden, they will become Chicken Soup!! ;)
They showed some video of cats urinary tract during surgery and the crystals -- they literally grow wild.
Good news if true...
“food patriotism”? Oh well, at least it won’t kill me.
AH! Excellent! Thanks for watching CNN so I didn’t have to...
There are many reasons that we buy from strange sources.
take milk for instance (to show a non wheat item). The USA pays milk price support to farmers. Farmers are, in turn, forbidden to use milk for anything but food products so any surplus milk gets tossed when it would be suitable for industrial items such as casein used to emulsify paint, cosmetics and other things. 100% of casein must be imported becsuse it is legally forbidden to manufacture it in the USA. Casein, for those who don’t know, is milk protein and the natural byproduct of spoiled milk.
Why do we shoot ourselves in the foot like this?
God only knows.
I’ll be popping a chicken in the oven in a few hours. I’m not in Indiana so I’m absolutely sure it’s completely safe. I feel good about it. Really.
Ha ha, I know what you mean!
Duncan Hunter has been legislating and speaking about the Chinese 'mess' for over a decade!

I grew up on a dairy ranch and on raw milk.. never got sick from it and I don't recall one single customer of my grandmother's ever reporting a problem.
IMHO this carries big brother just too far... they should be worries about what China is sending up for feed and food more than what our small dairy farmers are selling.
~LOL~ don’t watch Redeye so channel flip....
