Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I guess you didn’t read my post either, my position is to remove the pregnancy from the female not the life from this earth. Context matters, read the post to the end and you would notbe answering as you just did. Unless of course you are trying to employ spin.

A direct question to you. Did you read my whole post? Yes or no?

I have never seen a more anti-conservative, or a more egregious, post on this website, ever.

Ever? Really?

lol. And you call yourself "eternal vigilance"?

I agree he can be better. But Romney is preferable? His "terror" part of his C-PAC speech was underwhelming. McClame? On terrorism (and only terrorism) his intentions are good, but I just think he's crazy and untrustworthy on ANY issue.

Like I say, I'm a Fred Thompson guy first. But if it's Rudy, he gets my vote.

I guess you didn’t read the whole post either, I said nothing about retaining the choice to end a life. Maybe reading the post would have kept you from framing your comment the way you did.

"....there are no principles in politics."

'Tis only so when you have no principles to uphold. Politics change like tides and shift like sands of the beach; true principles remain as the level of the horizon; whether sometimes obscured by storm and haze or seen in perfect clarity.

The 2006 results should have warned you to this new reality.

The 2006 elections should stand as a warning that turncoat Republicans who abandon those who elected them will need to find a new job in the private sector.

I'm open to any of the conservative Republican candidates in the race and will actively support whomever emerges as a contender

BS

To some, to capitulate would be a abandonment of principle, but there are no principles in politics. There is only political realities and compromises.

Your post is added to my proof file about how RINOs always draw the one hundred and eighty degree wrong conclusion from any given set of events.

Silly. The point is, you prioritize your threats, and you deal with the MAJOR threat in front of your face. Right now, believe it or not, that's NOT abortion. It's real, live terrorists who want to kill ALL of us---adults, infants, born, unborn, everyone. That takes precedence in my view. It's the #1 issue, by far. Not even close.

And of the viable candidates (unless Fred T gets in) Rudy seems to have a lead in dealing with this issue. I'd love for someone else to come out and convince me otherwise on their positions, but Romney's C-PAC speech was lame on terrorism. McCrazy is just that. I don't think mentally he would have the stability to deal with the issue. And the other guys are flat unelectable.

I think what some people object to is the "some animals are more equal than others" aspect of the bannings.

All things are not equal on this conservative forum. If you espouse liberal ideas, promote liberal candidates, and/or attack conservative ideas and candidates, you're probably not going to be around here very long. If you're distracting from or disrupting the actual mission of this forum (yes, it has a mission - go look it up) then you're asking for trouble.

LOL! If that little gem is not a uber-troll inspired invective, I've never seen one!

Totally inappropriate and representative of a much bigger problem here.

You don’t even know what conservatism is. Real conservatives know how the government works. Real conservatives therefore know how to make political activism an effective tool rather than just an act of ego stroking.

The entire use of the word “choice” was a calculated move by the left to legitimize infanticide.

Is murder a “choice”? What about rape, robbery, arson, are they “choices”?

Nearly 50 MILLION innocent Americans have been slaughtered since 1973, anyone believes that this is a good “choice” has blood on their hands.

You just go on believing your liberaltarian garbage about “choice” and see where it winds up.

Your post perhaps made the blood pressure rise I endured from reading the post you were responding to worth it.

Perfectly and powerfully spoken. Thank you.

your assertion can be judged as being directly contradicted by Lieberman's victory in CT.

Lieberman was elected because the Dems in CT woke up to the fact that the DU/MoveOn types were trying to foist a whacko on them. That, combined with an effort to get Reps to cross the line promoted on this very site(!) is what elected Joe.

Since then, national support for the WoT has slipped, and Hill has been tailoring her stance to match the polling data.

Under that scenario, I think Gore takes in 2008 if he is nominated by the Dems.

Gore isn't running, unless I've missed some major news. Gore is consolidating his "green" position, so as to act as kingmaker, now that the McAuliff Machine has imploded and the Deaniacs never gelled.
