Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?

It seems everyone has an opinion on Rudy Giuliani, so here’s mine. At present, I am supporting Giuliani as I believe he is the best of the candidates running. My main issues are the WOT, taxes, and illegal immigration. I believe Giuliani will be fine on WOT and taxes; immigration.... not so much. However, I do not see any of the other candidates ready to tackle illegal immigration, other than Tancredo.
If Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich get in, I will seriously look at switching my support to them, however, that’s no guarantee. Does Thompson want to be President? And I’m not sure he’d be any better in solving the illegal problem than Giuliani.

The moderate or real world Republicans point at abortion and gay marriage as obsessions of social conservatives, in order to discredit conservatism per se. Social conservatism is about MORALS, honor, personal responsibility, and the laws that God handed down to Moses. Coincidentally, our Nation was founded so that we are a nation of laws. This is the framework in which freedom flourishes. Good point, and possibly why we as a nation have become more incrementally lawless since about, say.....1973.

DU is calling you. Bye now. Even the DUmmies have the integrity to post their liberalism out in the open. The FRiberals prefer to go to WideAwakes and keep hide their liberalism on private threads.

People with strong opinions generally give as good as they get. It’s rather hypocritical for either side on this thread to get their panties in a twist about posters "letting it rip." If you confronted Ted Olson with the accusations that are being hurled at the pro-Rudy crowd and even some neutrals on this thread, do you think he’d meekly slink away? Heck no.

Rudy is not the choice of Conservatives; he is the choice of many conservative Republicans. Big difference.
Rudy is not the choice of Conservatives. The lie is the premise that he is the (only/Catch-22) choice of conservative Republicans. May God forbid--but maybe it will be true after the primary--but certainly not now. Rudy is being foisted upon the public as our alleged only hope--RIGHT NOW. THERE'S your Big difference.

Thanks for posting #1910.
Conservatism didn't lose Republicans the 2006 Congressional Elections. The IRAQ war DID. Too many wish to believe '06 went down for other reasons than the monumental effort by the MSM to pound this message into our brains 24/7.
Hillary won't be running against Rudy or anyone else in '08. She'll be running against the Irag war.

Two socialists down and how many to go?
Peach did a great job of refuting the MSM, especially on WOT stuff, and that's a big reason that I come to FR everyday.
Frequently when another Freeper posed a question about the War on Terror, the history of terrorism against America or Iraq's links to terrorism, I could ping Peach and she would have the answer. She was heavily involved in the PreWarDocs discussions.
She was also active on the ATRW threads.
I'm going to miss Peach terribly. I don't agree with her about Rudy, but she's hardly a socialist.

name calling of others who you don't agree with, posting to freepers and about freepers who were banned and cannot defend themselves and then telling others they aren't conservative, embellishing statements for their own agenda; baiting posters to get banned, gleeful when some do. Truly a hateful crowd with "imagined moral superiority". You must be too new here to understand that this is, largely, a what goes around comes around situation.

Oh well, we have plenty of good Canadian FReepers, I have a number of Canadian friends who are all too aware of the horrors of socialism. Anyone who thinks liberals like Rudy and Hillary are the answer should go spend a few days up there, strike up some conversations with Canadians and they will tell you about how screwed up the socialists have made it.
