Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

FR certainly can recommend any candidate for Pres just as can the NYT or Rush Limbaugh. FR doesn’t need to jump on the Republican bandwagon after the R candidate has been selected at the R National Convention. FR can go much farther and endorse candidates up and down the spectrum from Pres to local dogcatcher of any town in any State. Congressional seats are probably just as important as Chief Exec although with so many it doesn’t focus the attention like the top slot.

“That said, it’s more than shocking that Peach was zotted.”

Truth is, Peach was probably shocked she wasn’t zotted sooner. She was doing everything she could to get zotted. She got her wish. I bet she's over at the anti-freeper site with the rest of those liberal cry babies.

There really is too much HATE going on here on this forum.

That is because Conservatives hate liberals because they are destroying our country. And now lately trying to destroy the party weve worked hard to build since Ronald Reagan.

liberals hate conservatives because we stand in the way of the changes they want to make to our country and to the GOP. Liberals like Rudy have clearly spoken about how they want to take the party back to being a Rockefeller Republican Party.

Conservatives hate that especially when they use our hero, Ronald Reagans name to do it.

The label game just does nothing to advance the philosophy, it only alienates and repels future recruits and member participation.

Sometimes labels mean something. RINO means Republican in Name Only, or People who use the title Republican who don't agree with the definition written out in the platform. Its easier to use a label than type all that out.

I believe those who are trying to use the label "conservative" to describe the flaming "liberal" Rudy , are doing so because they realize that the "conservative" labels sells alot better than the "liberal" label.

Manure. We don’t include national security that much when discussing the GOP candidates and potential candidates because all of the them, except for a few bottom-tier players, are strong on national security.

Hear hear

Now, it is about the issues.

Who is running the party now? Shaggy and Scooby?

I think our party is being run by a mess of wimps right now. The average Joe doesn't even know who the House and Senate Minority Leaders are. They have not given the people a reason to remember them. These people should be identifying Reid and Peloser with Al Sadr.

Al Sadr wants a time line and so does the leaders of the Demoratic Party. Where is the outcry that we have not even finished deploying troops in the surge in Iraq and Reid is buckling at the knees like a friendly Frenchman.

Now, the only dang people this Party is putting money behind are liberal Republicans. This Party needs a change. It needs to go find it's manhood and go stand up for what it believes in. Or are we going to continue to run and cower like Shag and Scoob?

I want a Strong Conservative as the House and Senate Minority Leaders. I want someone from a district so strong that he/she can say and do what he wants and he/she will be reelected no matter what. Just like Peloser was when she was minority leader in the House. I want someone to stand up in the Commie traitors face and call it the way the see it. Right now, there is no leadership and no candidate. And I am not motivated by the leaders of the Republicans today. I am feeling coerced into voting for Rudy because he can beat Hillary. Horse Hockey. Motivate the base with the issue and this becomes a different ball game.

Remember why we are Americans. Find the Cause and not the Person and get behind it.

This is the forum that largely chose Alan Keyes as the presidential candidate in 2000 so I’m not terribly worried that they don’t like Rudy. LOL

That is not true, and you know it.

Geeez Jim. Peach contributes more to the forum than most. Even when I disagree with her, her viewpoints are valuable. The forum benefits from the likes of her. If we had all like-minded people on all issues, we wouldn’t have much of a forum. I’d sure like to see Peach reinstated.

The country IS AND HAS changed drastically, but not in the way you think. Conservatives are now a very unpopular minority and the for the Democrats, the election in ‘08 is theirs to lose. The entire image of Conservatism has become unappealing to the American Public. There are many reasons why, and in order to understand what it is that has made this trend occur, we must first look at what image we are projecting to the public, and why we are being seen in such a bad way.

What you don't seem to recognize is the fact that Conservatism didn't lose Republicans the 2006 Congressional Elections. The IRAQ war DID.

Americans HAVE NOT rejected Conservatism on Abortion:

Americans HAVE NOT rejected Conservatism on Guns:

Americans HAVE NOT rejected Conservatism on Immigration:

Americans HAVE NOT rejected Conservatism on Limited Government:

So WHY are Republicans losing? There are not "many reasons why Conservatism has become unappealing to the American Public". There is one reason, and its name is IRAQ.

It's one thing to go in -- even on "iffy" evidence ("Close enough for Government Work") -- and depose and execute a brutal Dictator whom most Americans have grown to hate. Right or Wrong, Constitutional Declaration of War or not, most Americans will cheer when some sh*tty little tinpot mass-murderer gets his arse kicked by the United States Armed Forces.

But it's quite another thing when you ask the American Public to continue sending their husbands and wives, sons and daughters 7,000 miles overseas Four Years after "Mission Accomplished" to try and Referee an Islamic Civil War in order to buttress some pie-in-the-sky Neo-Conservative pipe dream about nation-building "Democracy" in a theocratic Hell-hole. By overwhelming and ever-increasing majorities, Americans are UTTERLY REJECTING Neo-Conservative Nation-Building in Iraq.

So, here's the Scoop: Conservatives can WIN on Abortion. And we can WIN on Guns. And we can WIN on Immigration. And we can WIN on Limited Government. But we CAN'T WIN on an Iraq War which the American Public HATES, and the 2006 Elections proved it when we got our heads handed to us!

So, now, the Rudy-bots want us to run a Liberal-Party New York Cross-dressing Lawyer who's Weak on ALL of our Electoral Strengths (in point of fact, an outright Traitor to Conservatism on ALL those issues), and whose only "Strength" is on an Iraq War which most Americans are growing to detest!

That just makes no sense at all.

We should play to our Strengths (Abortion, Guns, Immigration, Limited Government) where the American Public supports us -- not the Albatross 'round our Necks (the Iraq War) where the American Public HATES us, and has already handed us a resounding Defeat!!

Even though I agree with him because using Ronald Reagans good name to build up Rudy is infuriating.

But if they all get banned how to we sharpen our arguing skills for the real world?

They keep saying another lie, that FR is different from the real world GOP, but I believe from my experience this is going on all over the real world GOP.

These promoting Rudy have an agenda, and for any Conservative, to be fooled otherwise is very stupid.

Rudy connects across the board, with many disaffected democrats as well as independents and also with the youth that watched his leadership after 9/11.

Huh? I've never seen a single "youth" say anything good about the old, bald, lisping short guy who likes to wear women's dresses. And the only people that Rudy is "connecting" with are liberals and people who haven't yet heard his history and actual positions on the issues.

These are unique times, and the GOP is going to have real trouble winning an election with the demographics that are changing as we speak. The democrats have successfully demonized republicans as being mainly white religious bigots. Rudy connects across the board, with many disaffected democrats as well as independents and also with the youth that watched his leadership after 9/11.

I agree, but no one learned from the last congressional election, guess it will take a blowout on the presidential election to figure it out.
