Many of the commies did walk the gauntlet.

They all came in on the short buses.
Not really drinking.......yet. ;)
I'm going to jump in with an "I was there post."
The crowd was positivelyt amazing. There were literally thousands of good guys there in knots of ten ot twelve. They were mostly military and they were in full voice.
There was a bottleneck to the Wall, there were two or three very long and 4 or 5 deeop lines to pass the metal detectors to get in. You can be assured that given the mood of the morning, any one who tried to destroy the good feelings, camaraderie and deface the wall would have been crucified on the spot.
All the sidewalks and paths anywhere near the Lincoln Memorial were packed.
We had permits for the inner circle of the lincoln Memorial. It was solid and 4 or 5 deep on street level and many many more on an elevated wall behind them. There were still more in the grass behind all that. The marchers were presented with jeers and chants from a literal stack of people all the way round the arc of the Lincoln Memorial.
I chose to cross the street to another of our permitted areeas, area "D" on the map. The curb was occupied by lots of press potographers waiting with good vantage to get the start of the prade. I wanted to be sure we occupied the area.
I unlimbered my sign and flag and stood on the curb. Soon,
I was joined by a vet from Colorado and several others. A group of students, perhaps seven or so realized that it was a good place and joined me. They were from American Conservative Student Union. I was pleased to meet their president. They were loving it because..... there were no barricades. The moonbats passed by at arms length and received the full, almost face to face derision.
Alas, I missed seeing many FReepers. I saw a total of about 10. We were literally swallowed up in the crowd. It was truly great experience....in spite of the ankle deep mud, the wind and the cold.
What if they gave a revolution and no one came?
Heck, we had more people than that waiting to get into the gun show this morning.
