I disagree - Brit Hume is professional first - he does not allow his own political views to block his ability to be journalist. Unlike some journalists - Brit can have a nice constructive conversation with anyone.

I suspect he would love to interview her - would she allow herself to be interviewed by Brit is the challenge.

The Dhimmicrats have also badly overreached

You sure nailed it here. I am starting to see some light admits all the the gloom. The Democrats did NOT run against the Iraq war. Then they went right to DC and have done nothing for the last 2 months BUT posture on Iraq. Some how I think a lot of "betrayed Conservatives" and average Americans are feeling quite a bit of Buyers Remorse now watching their "Heirs of Ronald Reagan" go to DC and morph into John Kerry Jr.

I was afraid the Democrats would go to DC and actually do some things to appear "Centrists" but it is becoming apparent they are far too captive of their moon bat extremist base to actually govern on what they pretended to run on.

The best tool the Republican have for 2008 IS the current activities of the Democrat Congressional Leadership. They ran AGAINST DC in 2006 then went TO DC and turned right into the same old Democrats we all KNEW they were really at heart. They lied their way into power and are too stupid to realize the average American voter remembers, and real does NOT like being lied to. Consider the lesson from what Clinton SAID in 1992, and then DID in 1993. It bought the election revolution of 1994.

God bless Mitch McConnell. A LOT is resting on his shoulders. IF he can keep 41 Republicans together to simply filibuster most everything the Democrats dream up, their 100%ers may just do to them what ours did to us.

"This explains why so many people have lost patience with the current U.S. leadership. It is no wonder that 52 percent of voters in my election night survey said they were "mad as hell" about politics and politicians. Can you blame them? It doesn't matter whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, the outlook is grim: a war with no end in sight, rising costs of health care, borders that are poorly patrolled, schools that are failing, manufacturing that is disappearing, and a culture that is coarsening."

"The path to a GOP majority must be paved with solutions to the real problems of real people. Republicans should talk about expanding health savings accounts and educating Americans about the benefits they offer. They should commit to sunsetting government programs every four years unless continuing them can be justified. They should pledge the investment necessary to develop renewable fuels and alternative energy. They should challenge Democrats to tackle the burgeoning tax code and fight for tax simplification on behalf of hardworking taxpayers."

"Republicans need a spirited, intellectually based rebuttal to every piece of Democratic legislation and an alternative to every policy -- not a new parliamentary maneuver."

"My polls show that Democrats now hold a perceived advantage with voters not just on reducing deficits and balancing the budget but on an issue long seen as a GOP strength: ending wasteful spending. That alone should jar Republicans into taking a fresh approach."

"Step one should be the abolition of earmarks for hometown and home-state projects. Nothing will undermine the lobbyist culture more than a clear and definitive statement that there will never again be a highway project like the Alaskan "bridge to nowhere."

"Step two is to once again stand for accountability, a principle abandoned in the last Congress. If Republicans are serious about demonstrating that they understand what America wants, they will support a balanced-budget amendment -- but with an important twist: The declining Social Security surplus couldn't be used as a numbers game to "reduce" shortfalls, and there would be a clause making it difficult to raise taxes."

"Republicans lost their congressional majority because they lost touch with what Americans really want. As a pollster, I rarely hear voters call for smaller government. They tell me that they want more efficient and more effective government. (Note to Republicans: There is no starker symbol of Washington's inefficiency and ineffectiveness than the federal government's inability to control our borders and prevent illegal immigration.) Last year, Republicans campaigned locally and lost nationally.

"Relying on local issues to define elections at a time when national matters dominate public concerns is a losing strategy. With 20 months until the next election, Republicans have a responsibility as the minority party, as the opposition party, to prove themselves as once again worthy of public trust. They must adopt a bold agenda to mirror the public's desire for bold change. Anything less and they will fail not only themselves but also the country."

It is only the beginning, they will be at each other's throats for the next Year. This is really the first time we will see 24-7 365 old and New Media reporting on the Daily Nasties. Before the Rat Candidates have only slammed GWB, now they are all going to be slashing and burning each other. The Rats have the meanest and nastiest campaign people and it will be brutal. They really cannot run against GWB, and the Pubbie candidate will not have an Iraqi war record (once he has been selected) so they will have to pummel each other. It is a beautiful thing!

Lil Timmah on MTP wallowed in the Walter Reed "scandal." His big point was that in WW2 we had 2 combat injuries for every combat death, something like 6 injuries for every death in Vietnam but now, now in Bush's Iraq war we have 16 injured for every dead soldier!

Gee, I guess he wants us to let them die... excuse me, abort their care... so that the statistics will be easier for the DBM to demagogue.

sheesh

There is another HUGE point that seems to skipped over when we talk about Suddam having NOTHING to do with 9/11

When Saddam invaded Kuwait- he started a panic in the Middle East.

There was no doubt that he had spent most of his time trying to invade Iran to take their oil- that was not going well- so he then invaded Kuwait. In his "reasoning" for invading Kuwait he used the term "jihad"

“Saddam himself exploited Islamic rhetoric in his claim that annexing Kuwait had been a religious duty, a jihad, since the al-Sabah family (Kuwait's rulers) had ruled over an artificial state set up by the British. Saddam claimed that his jihad had liberated Kuwait from dominance by Western infidels.”

Kuwait had enjoyed full independence since 1961, and Iraq had officially recognized Kuwait’s sovereignty at that time and then once again in 1963. In response to Saddam’s invasion of Iraq, the Saudi's, themselves INVITED American troops into the area. Yes- they were FEARFUL of Saddam invading them, in fact- Iraqi forces were gathering athe the Saudi Border. SO- Saddam invades Kuwait, gathers troops at the Saudi border. (keep in mind Osama ultimately wants to rule Saudi Arabia and her oil) The Saudis ask for our help- American troops to protect them from this madman- and then the presence of these troops becomes the catalyst for Osama. It was the presence of American troops on Saudi soil that got Osama’s panties in a wad, and lead him to claim that attacks on Americans anywhere in the world were justified.

Once again- the Dems just want to keep running, keep America weak, and keep blaming Amercia.

As long as these folks REFUSE to blame the power hungry folks like Saddam, Osama, and Ahmadamnutjob, and Lil' Kimmy in NK...they have no business opening their traps about our security, let alone military responses to the these thugs.

If they don't do something fast they will have no viewers at all. Three "Geezers", and a Clinton lackey does not make a good show.

Rudy is neither a jerk nor a jackass.

He's a New Yorker. It's way too easy to confuse New Yorkers with jerks, jackasses or lots of other less savory types. Having grown up there it's just automatic for me to avoid those things that so annoy others.

Fuggit aboud it ;^>

Stuck in the Mud How Can the GOP Get Moving Again? Drop the Dirty Politics and Get Real.By Frank Luntz

Another example of the utterly pathetic self absorption of the Worst Generation. Basically what they are saying here is :"Whaa! Everything is not perfect and I am MAD my life sucks. It is .....'s fault, not MINE, that I am a pathetic loser who has made a total mess of my life".

BEST sustained economic performance ever., Longest period of Full Employment ever. Highest per capita home ownership ever. NO terrorist attacks since 09-11, a war we are winning with fewer casualties then all most any other war in our history. More then 50% taking part via 401Ks and Pensions in the Best Stock Market ever etc etc etc etc etc etc etc!

Basically yet another "whaa everything is not perfect, I am mad!" hissy fit for the Worst Generation. What a bunch of ignorant trash losers. When are they EVER going to finally going to grow up? Frankly they ALL should be required to spend a couple of years in some Third World Hell Hole. Maybe then they would quit being such completely useless whiny bitches.

Here is a clue for the Always Whining. Instead of letting the Junk Media do all your thinking for you, HOW about you try ONE time in your lives to actually do some THINKING FOR YOURSELVES?

Was there ANY mention of the Libby trial on MTP? I'm just catching the end of lively discussion by Russert and the panel.

Russert's just TOO gleeful, animated and jovial today ... makes me concerned about the verdict.

The fact that Byron York is there .. someone who's written extensively about the trial and the players (Russert being #1) and if the subject was avoided .... it is TOO cutesy by half.

Yeah and the US House Republican took the issue head on and the Know Nothings fired them for it.

Maybe the Know Nothings should actually try ONE TIME LOOKING at what the Republicans did vrs what the Democrats are doing.

Take the $1.2 billion for fencing and the most spending for new border patrol agents and up graded surveillance technology the Republicans gave you and consider that in light of THIS from the Democrats.

S.F.'s Castro district faces an identity crisis

As straights move in, some fear loss of the area's character

To walk down San Francisco's Castro Street -- where men casually embrace on sidewalks in the shadow of an enormous rainbow flag -- the neighborhood's status as "gay Mecca" seems obvious. But up and down the enclave that has been a symbol of gay culture for more than three decades, heterosexuals are moving in. They have come to enjoy some of the same amenities that have attracted the neighborhood's many gay and lesbian residents.
