There is another HUGE point that seems to skipped over when we talk about Suddam having NOTHING to do with 9/11

When Saddam invaded Kuwait- he started a panic in the Middle East.

There was no doubt that he had spent most of his time trying to invade Iran to take their oil- that was not going well- so he then invaded Kuwait. In his "reasoning" for invading Kuwait he used the term "jihad"

“Saddam himself exploited Islamic rhetoric in his claim that annexing Kuwait had been a religious duty, a jihad, since the al-Sabah family (Kuwait's rulers) had ruled over an artificial state set up by the British. Saddam claimed that his jihad had liberated Kuwait from dominance by Western infidels.”

Kuwait had enjoyed full independence since 1961, and Iraq had officially recognized Kuwait’s sovereignty at that time and then once again in 1963. In response to Saddam’s invasion of Iraq, the Saudi's, themselves INVITED American troops into the area. Yes- they were FEARFUL of Saddam invading them, in fact- Iraqi forces were gathering athe the Saudi Border. SO- Saddam invades Kuwait, gathers troops at the Saudi border. (keep in mind Osama ultimately wants to rule Saudi Arabia and her oil) The Saudis ask for our help- American troops to protect them from this madman- and then the presence of these troops becomes the catalyst for Osama. It was the presence of American troops on Saudi soil that got Osama’s panties in a wad, and lead him to claim that attacks on Americans anywhere in the world were justified.

Once again- the Dems just want to keep running, keep America weak, and keep blaming Amercia.

As long as these folks REFUSE to blame the power hungry folks like Saddam, Osama, and Ahmadamnutjob, and Lil' Kimmy in NK...they have no business opening their traps about our security, let alone military responses to the these thugs.

BIN LADEN'S FATWA

Because Saddam invaded Kuwait and we were NOT allowed to finish him, we had to sustain substantial US and British Military forces in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has NEVER been a colony so this was the 1st time "Infidels" had been garrisoned on the "Holy Soil" of Saudi Arabia. This drove the wack jobs like Bin Laden nuts. IT was the primary cause of them planning and carrying out 09-11. To drive us off the "Holy soil" of Saudi Arabia.

So in the aftermath of 09-11 the US had 3 choices.

Surrender to Bin Laden's demands, pull out of Saudi Arabia which would not only uncaged Saddam but would also guarantee we would be subject to more and more terrorism. ONCE the terrorists, like any other thugs, thinks their tactics are working their demands only grow.

Ignore the problem and hope desperately that we can stop each and every terrorists act forever and ever.

Remove Saddam thus removing the reason we needed to have troops in Saud thus removing the Terrorists primary fund raising and recruitment tool while providing us an even BETTER strategic position in the ME.
