(CNSNews.com) - Weeks after accusing President Bush of "shameful" behavior over the imprisonment of two Border Patrol agents who shot an unarmed suspected drug smuggler along the U.S.-Mexico border, a federal lawmaker turned up the heat further Wednesday, suggesting the president should be impeached if either of the two men is murdered in prison.

To the best of my knowledge Hunter is free of any Abramoff links.. his problem was kiting checks at the congressional bank..
As for conservatism, one element of that philosophy is states' rights. Do you then oppose the prosecution by the Feds of Deputy Sheriff Hernandez, not a Federal, but a local officer, on charges similar to those on which Compean and Ramos were tried? Another element is the avoidance of double jeopardy. Did you support the conviction of Stacy Koon in Los Angeles by the Feds in the Rodney King mater even though a state jury acquitted them? A third element is preservation of the rights and privileges of American citizens, and not those of people in our country illegally. Do you believe aliens in this country illegally have the same civil rights as native born or naturalized citizens?
Yes, I am a real conservative, and proud of it. A person who defends injustice, opposes states rights, does not agree with the Constitutional guarantee against double jeopardy, and wants to place illegals (and drug smugglers to boot) on a legal par with citizens may be a lot of things, but one thing he is not is a conservative.
Yep. It was a vast conspiracy to throw these two innocent babes into the clink. Two men nobody heard of less than a year ago (other than their familes, co-workers and friends). Yep. Makes sense to me. The prosecutor. The judge. The jury. The defense counsel. Everyone in the food chain all the way up to the President has it in for these two guys.
Why?
I said nothing of the kind. Did you read the letter at the link?
I not only do NOT buy any music produced in the last 35+ years, but have never listened to it, of my own accord.
I began boycotting lefty made/acted in/produced movies in the mid 1960s and advocating that everyone else do so too.
I watch very little T.V. and when I do do, I watch FNC, old movies, and some other things on cable.
I listen to oldies(rock&roll) and classical. I don't watch FNC anymore, haven't for quiet sometimes. Hubby will put it on and I can hear it in the background, some of it. I watch Turner classics, I love their Sunday Night Silent movie. Science, DIY, Military Channel, Animal Planet and Nick cartoons are the only ones I'll watch.
By old books I mean like, Hemingway or Faulkner, Joyce. I'm reading Homer's Odyssey now.
You don't know shit about me. Your elitest snobbery wears thin.
I don't CARE about Europe, then or now. I'm not an internationalist like you apparently are.
There is NOTHING in the Koran about female circumcision, Mohamed NEVER once talked about it and it is an AFRICAN TRIBAL thing that got cobbled onto African Islam.
Islamic law, known as shari'a, is based on two sources. The primary being the Koran, which contains God's own proclamations to the Prophet Mohammed. The Koran says nothing supportive of or in opposition to female circumcision.
Break
Mohamed NEVER once talked about it
Really?

The second source of shari'a is a collection of sayings and practices of the Prophet Mohammed called the Sunna. Each individual saying or custom is termed a hadith, although not all hadith are deemed authentic. The hadith pertaining to female circumcision describes Mohammed suggesting to a female circumciser that excision is "allowed" but should not be "overdone" because a more limited cutting "brings more radiance to the face...and is ...better for the husband". The hadith also suggests that Mohammed called gential cutting a markrumah, or honorable deed for women. However, this hadith is contested because of the relevant authority is obscure and the genealogy is questionable. Nevertheless, the hadith has had an important effect in parts of Africa. A fatwa issued by an important Islamic cleric in Egypt in 1950 declared:
"Female circumcision is an Islamic practice mentioned in the tradition of the Prophet, and sanctioned by Imams Jurists, in spite of differences on whether it is a duty or a sunna. We support the practice of the sunna and sanction it in view of its effect on attenuating the sexual desire in women and directing to the desirable moderation"
Whether the practices of Prophet Mohammed and the hadith supporting female circumcision are true or not, it is very apparent that Islam will maintain the practice as part of their religion.
Tell that to Bud Cummins ,Federal prosecutor Easter District Arkansas. Wall Street Journal June 2006. You just grab stuff out of the air don't you.
The house banking scandal was a sloppy operation and a lousy way to run government. But Hunter was not found guilty of any wrong doing, to my knowledge. Some folks keep throwing out a dirty Hunter/Abramoff link... I have never ever seen one.
I agree with you that we do not know the facts and that massive conspiracy is unlikely. I also agree that the threat of impeachment, at this point, is a political trick. However, I really have very little faith in the justice system and it is entirely possible that politics heavily influenced the prosecution and the rules of evidence in this case. Calling for a presidential pardon to follow a complete review does not equal "tossing the Constitution overboard."
What the heck are you blathering about? Your kind of retort is precisely why people like me have trouble taking a cause like these former agents seriously.
Which is exactly what we have been trying in a polite manner to tell you happened here.. Homeland Security brought the charges and Homeland Security took the report from Agent Sanchez of the Tucson Sector who just happened to be personal friends with the drug runner these guys are purported to have shot (at)..
It was the drug runners mother who called this agents MIL that got this entire case rolling in the first place... and now, we find out yesterday that Homeland Security LIED about their evidence ... we know this because they finally admitted it... yet these men still sit in jail.
In addition three jurors said they were coerced into voting guilty by the jury foreman who told them they had to vote the same as everyone else... there is much, much more.
To create the chilling effect that it has created. The Border Patrol is at this moment effectively neutered. That is what Bush and his cronies have wanted all along. Our borders are now wide open to all.
That's worth saying again.
"It's shameful this was done by someone who is in the Republican Party," Rohrabacher added, saying Bush "obviously thinks more about his agreements with Mexico than the lives of American people and backing up his defenders."
Are you listening, Mr. President?
You know I get really sick of the "real" conservative thing. What is it you're saying to me. Why the quotation marks? Are you mocking my position? Or are you just trying to belittle it?
My concern about the judicial process in this specific case is that potentially now Border Patrol agents will be more reluctant to pursue things like the U-Haul that came down a dirt back road by the Otay Mesa crossing yesterday and tried to smash an agent between the U-Haul and the BP vehicle, for fear that they, too, will face charges and jail.
However, the narrow, hysterical focus on this one case because it touches on the illegal immigration debate only leaves me cold.
That's a shame. I felt the same when this happened to one our brave soldiers in Iraq trying to do his job so I don't consider it to be a narrow hysterical focus. This is just the issue at hand.
I think that is a case of grasping at threads. He also plans to discuss the banking issue (from what I've read).
He ain't ignoring them, drama queen.
I posted earlier, but will repost.. tonight on our Phoenix news they reported the US Attorney's office is no longer arresting and trying illegals caught running less than 500 pounds of drugs into the country. The Phoenix prosecutor is picking up the slack. Our congressmen were not aware of this until the Phoenix DA sent a delgation to DC to discuss this with them.... big question????? Why.... all of a sudden is it okay for a non-citizen to import 499 pounds of drugs into Arizona?
I did.
