The purpose of this thread will be to pool our resources and ideas to counter the attempted take-over of our nation’s capital and foreign policy.
It is not the place to voice your disgust with those that feel it is necessary to present a street presence to counter the dregs of society seeking to undermine and destroy our country and our leadership. If that is your purpose, please move along.
On January 27, 2007, Thunder90 posted a thread to advise us of the next convergence on our nations capital by the anti-American hate-mongers. This gives us SEVEN WEEKS to organize and strategerize.
While reading Thuder90’s thread and the AAR from the DC Chapter’s counter demonstration last Saturday, January 27th, you will find inquiries in regard to transportation, hotels, metro lines and the like. There were also a number of Freepmails discussing these issues.
For those interested in making our presence known in Washington, DC on March 17, 2007 please feel free to offer what you can.
· If you are driving and have room for others, let us know the general vicinity you will begin the trip. I have an offer now of someone willing to pay for half the gas to share a ride.
· We already have offers of rooms/beds for those that need a place to stay. We can always use more!
· Perhaps you can rally enough interest in your area that renting a van or chartering a bus would be worthwhile. Let us know and we will see if that can be arranged.
· Those that live in the greater DC area or will have a vehicle at your disposal may be able to help shuttle folks from hotels or metro stations.
· We may need wheel chairs and those to push them.
· Those that have blogs, talk shows, columns or access to others that do – please share!

(D.C. Chapter Report on 1/27/07)
There are no formal plans at this time. Why plan a big rally/counterdemonstration if no one plans to attend?
Rest assured the DC Chapter faithful, with assistance from local citizens and troops, will be in DC on March 17th between 11:00 AM and however long it takes to ensure our presence is known.
The question is – WILL YOU BE THERE?

2007 is the 40th anniversary, but not the month/day.
I posted the link to the "Levitate the Pentagon" march in post #1.
On October 21, 1967, 70,000 demonstrators came to Washington, D.C. to "Confront the War Makers." This was the first of the biannual Anti-War demonstrations to fuse protest with the whimsicality of the counter culture and to take civil disobedience to new levels of confrontation. It would become the prototype for the demonstrations at the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago -- except that the latter was marred by extensive police violence.
Along the same lines, the rabble have essentially held the streets for the past 40 years. (no disrespect to those few warriors who have so valiantly opposed them) I really believe that this could be a turning point in history. It just may be that when we show up in numbers, take away their free reign of the streets, take away their anonymity and their monopoly on the press, we can make these dirtbags slink back to their rocks and crawl under them once and for all.
We have allowed them the freedom of the streets for too long. It's time to take them back!

Type of thread so those who are coming down the day before can co-ordinate together to either get together or go add Our Support to those Dedicated Walter Reed Folks that night! ORRRRRRR.. I will do what ED did too-but under ONE Thread-List ALL the LINKS AND...a Thread with just POSTER IDEAS- although I am sure most o f you already have posters from past Rallies- you may want some for this one too!
Anyone else also staying at the Holiday In Ballston/Arlington let me know-will be in DC hopefully by 1 or so that afternoon- will want to walk around a little and site-see!--

The left is planning a full scale rally at the Pentagon after the rally at the Vietnam Wall, according to ANSWER.
ANSWER secured a permit to protest outside of the Pentagon and plan to aim a sound system at the Pentagon to attack the active duty Military in the Pentagon and over seas in Iraq and Afghaninstan.
Let me know if you change your mind.

If I could be there, I'd be blocking for panel 15....my husband's grandfather who was killed on his third tour of Vietnam....after serving in WWII and Korea as well. He left a wife and nine children.

One Canadian Peter Lemon was award The Medal of Honor for his service in Viet Nam.
I received an email a few days ago from a Canadian lady, an Air Force veteran who is coming down to DC with an Army veteran specifically "to defend the names of the Canadians on that wall."
Those emails then escalated to postings on veteran or military oriented web sites, and that got things really moving. I heard about it on the www.TogetherWeServed.com website, before it actually got the name Gathering of Eagles, and after writing about it here, got notices from all over the country that like-minded people were getting involved and making plans to be in DC on March 17.
