The purpose of this thread will be to pool our resources and ideas to counter the attempted take-over of our nation’s capital and foreign policy.
It is not the place to voice your disgust with those that feel it is necessary to present a street presence to counter the dregs of society seeking to undermine and destroy our country and our leadership. If that is your purpose, please move along.
On January 27, 2007, Thunder90 posted a thread to advise us of the next convergence on our nations capital by the anti-American hate-mongers. This gives us SEVEN WEEKS to organize and strategerize.
While reading Thuder90’s thread and the AAR from the DC Chapter’s counter demonstration last Saturday, January 27th, you will find inquiries in regard to transportation, hotels, metro lines and the like. There were also a number of Freepmails discussing these issues.
For those interested in making our presence known in Washington, DC on March 17, 2007 please feel free to offer what you can.
· If you are driving and have room for others, let us know the general vicinity you will begin the trip. I have an offer now of someone willing to pay for half the gas to share a ride.
· We already have offers of rooms/beds for those that need a place to stay. We can always use more!
· Perhaps you can rally enough interest in your area that renting a van or chartering a bus would be worthwhile. Let us know and we will see if that can be arranged.
· Those that live in the greater DC area or will have a vehicle at your disposal may be able to help shuttle folks from hotels or metro stations.
· We may need wheel chairs and those to push them.
· Those that have blogs, talk shows, columns or access to others that do – please share!

(D.C. Chapter Report on 1/27/07)
There are no formal plans at this time. Why plan a big rally/counterdemonstration if no one plans to attend?
Rest assured the DC Chapter faithful, with assistance from local citizens and troops, will be in DC on March 17th between 11:00 AM and however long it takes to ensure our presence is known.
The question is – WILL YOU BE THERE?
It truely is a sad day in this republic when we have to even consider protecting such monuments.

I am a retired Navy Vietnam-era vet and a Desert Storm vet. Many veterans and supporters will be on hand to defend The Wall, and the call has also gone out to Rolling Thunder. I would like to thank the Freepers for helping us out with this important mission.
Many of us have been trying to decide the best tactic to use. We can all agree that these idiots deserve to be shouted down, and need a swift kick in the gluteus maximus. But, The Wall is a place of honor and we don't want to disturb the resting place of our comrades, or disrupt any family/friends visiting The Wall. One idea we came up with is to form a defensive perimeter around The Wall and enmass turn our backs to the protesters, maybe standing at attention or saluting our fallen. This would make a powerful statement, and any action against us would be solely blamed on the snivelling whiners and cowards.

Where we will Assemble on March 17
Tens of thousands of people will be gathering at Constitution Gardens near the Vietnam Memorial prior to the March on the Pentagon on Saturday March 17. This is the same location that ANSWER used for its mass anti-war rally on October 26, 2002. On March 17, 2007 we will leave Constitution Gardens and march on Constitution Ave. and then to Virginia on the way to the Pentagon. We will not be in the Vietnam Memorial and all speakers for amplified sound are turned away from the Memorial so as not to interfere with family members visiting the site. Thousands of veterans and military families, including those who have lost loved ones in Iraq, will be in the front ranks of the March on the Pentagon. Some tiny pro-Bush groups who support the war in Iraq, and who normally mobilize about 25 people to hold signs when massive antiwar protests take place, are now callously trying to manipulate Vietnam veterans by spreading rumors that the March on the Pentagon will defile the Vietnam Memorial. This lie should be treated with the same contempt that people have for the other lies promoted by Bush and his followers to justify an illegal war of aggression: Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction; Iraq was responsible for the September 11 attacks; and that the U.S. occupation would be greeted as an act of liberation by the Iraqi people. Enough lies. Enough deceit!
If there are enough on our side (and I literally pray that there are) to form an elbow-to-elbow human barrier around the area, that would be great. Also take note of the close proximity of the communist group's "peace" rally to the WWII and Korean War Memorials as well. If there are enough on our side, perhaps we could also have folks keep a close eye on those memorials, too. Leftists are opportunists as well as cowards. If they think trashing The Wall or rushing the line there is too risky, they wouldn't hesitate to move on to an unprotected memorial to our heroes.
That area will be lousy with two-legged leftist vermin on March 17th, of that we are certain.
Folks within the different groups involved on our side are talking, and in the next few weeks they will probably formulate a plan. Let's all stay attentive to the various websites and this resource link for updates - and keep spreading the word among our friends!
Thanks for posting our enemy's update and the map. Yeah, I do think they're running scared as they realize they've riled up some mighty ill will among the vet groups. I think the vet groups would consider extending "coverage" to the other monuments. I agree with tgsltakoma's assessment of their cowardice and the potential danger to the other monuments. All the groups need to keep in touch with one another to coordinate plans to be the most effective.
The Veterans and Rolling Thunder have done a wonderful job of coming together and we are grateful they will be there to defend The Wall and show solidarity with other Americans willing to stand up to the commie scum.

I agree this would make a powerful statement. However, these "people" are dangerous! We need to have large numbers of patriots to watch your backs. They are NOT above attacking you from behind. So far it looks like we may have the numbers to accomplish the mission.

Exactly what we need, Takoma! It is time to put up or fergedabodit!! They simply CANNOT be given a free pass again, forty years later.
Personally I think their latest comments about the Constitution GARDENS are a ploy to get our guys to stand down and not attend!!!
For one thing, and I've never been there, if the Constitution Gardens are actual gardens, then there is no way they would be able to assemble 100,000 in the garden's paths between the flowers and Bushes without causing major damage to the Gardens. Instead look at the satellite map below and you will see that the only place that is ideal for their purposes is Area 5 the large grassy field just east of the wall.
We are being fed a lie, to defuse our involvement and counter protest. But what else could we expect from a bunch of serious communists. Perhaps a small but of Irony here is that President Nixon Ordered the Creation of the Constitution Gardens in the first place.

Not only St Patrick's Day - it is a perfect St. Patrick's Day. I can combine two of my favorite pursuits - drinking Guiness and pissing off liberals.
No matter their plans, ours will be to protect and defend what these little weasles will try to destroy ;) They can't beat us if we stand together!
