Tonight's "John Ziegler Show" on KFI 640AM in Southern CA played a clip from Senator John F Kerry's appearance at Pasadena City College with candidate Phil Angelides, Democrat for CA governor.
At the event, Kerry had this to say about our brave military volunteers:
"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
Add in the 26 million veterans in America and all of their families and we have a Huge Voting Bloc!
Our military is working at personal risk so that idiots like Kerry have the right to say this crap.
"This morning's SPIN is that Kerry was 'making a joke' and that criticism of him is "unfair""
Well Mr. Kerry...it ISN'T FUNNY, you lowlife POS!
This is sadly typical of the left in this country.
John Kerry was given the perfect forum(a college) in which to praise our troops and to encourage other young people to serve our country with the same honor, dignity and bravery that these men and women display everyday all over the world......and what did he do?
He tried to made them into a oneline joke!! Despicable!!
GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY AND OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF!!
If this clip is true, it confirms that he is a part of the cabal that will bring about the antichrist.
Hillary Clinton starts a lot of sentences with "You Know," too. Just an observation, FWIW.
Didn't read thru all the responses so it may have already been said ... if Kerry is taken to task on this he'll claim he was "misquoted", or, his remark was "taken out of context".
What a useless piece of debris Kerry is.
He did the same for the "I voted for the $87 billion before I voted against it", but it haunted him through the majority of the '04 campaign.
I just got to this extended thread, so maybe this has already been brought up: When I first read the above quote, I thought Kerry was referring (taking a swipe) at President Bush. Is it possible this is a slam on President Bush and not the military? I just thought the "you" in "you get stuck in Iraq" may be referring to the President.
CALLING EVERY PARENT OR FAMILY MEMBER who has a SON/DAUGHTER in IRAQ.......EMAIL, or PHONE JOHN KERRY'S OFFICE TODAY!!!!!!!! TODAY!!!!! and PROTEST THIS STATEMENT on A UNPRecidented SCALE!!!!

That video is truly mind-blowing in the way that the MEDIA REPORTS IT!!
There is no one on this planet doing anything more important than the military in Iraq and Afghanistan!
Disgusting!
He has it on his site now, but it should have been with a SIREN!! This statement has infuriated me!!! ALREADY CALLED and left a PROTEST on KErry'S office MACHINE!! Every SINGLE PARENT WHO HAS A son/daughter in IRAQ needs to OPENLY protest this statement!!!!!!!!!!
my son was evidently one of the "less smart" ones as well...he was stuck in Iraq once......
BUT.....he must be a REAL DUMBASS cause he voluntered to extend his contract with the Marines to go back again....
I had no idea what a dumbshit he is.....he said, I just can't "not go back" as long as my buddies are going, I've been with these guys since they got out of boot....
F%&k Kerry!!!

Amen to that. In fact, why anyone thinks today's colleges or universities are places of higher learning is a mystery; the curriculums at some of our major colleges and universities border on absurd---especially the curriculums of humanities majors. In my opinion, a bosun's mate who can secure a ship in high seas is worth far more than some limp-wristed Mary who pulled a 4.0 in a sociology major.
PING!
Naw, I don't think he meant the president.
I think he was between a rock and a hard place, speech-wise. He couldn't say "If you don't, you'll get stuck flipping burgers/waiting tables/schlepping luggage/picking tomatoes," because then he'd piss off illegal aliens and the SEIU.
It's okay to insult soldiers, though, because he knows that most of them wouldn't vote for him even if you put their testicles in a vise and threatened to start turning the wheel. And invoking the spectre of the draft for college students was one of his 2004 campaign tricks. Maybe he thought it worked for him.
KNBC-TV Channel 4 in Los Angeles had it on their 11:00 p.m. news Monday night.
