I'm glad the Allen campaign revealed this. That a twisted creep who would write such a thing is running to represent Virginians in the U.S. Senate, and none in the media ever mentioned it, is a travesty. Virginians needed to know that Webb is a creep, a nasty nasty creep.

Well, when I replied earlier, I had not read the passage. It's a doozy. And I've never read more than one chapter of a Webb novel. I only read that because husband was reading it for a class he was taking. It was rather boring for me, so I did not read any more. I'm not into war novels. Husband liked the particular book. But husband has never been enamored of Jim Webb as a person. Webb's a bit wishy-washy.

Then you're going to have to say that Lynn Cheney has a "sick mind" too. She wrote some steamy lesbian sex scenes. You won't get any argument from me. I'm sure this goes a long way toward explaining why her daughter turned out to be a lesbian.
Novelists do not normally endorse the actions or words of the characters they conjure up. It's fiction. This is a dumb move on Allen's part.
Baloney. J.R.R. Tolkien wrote one of the greatest bodies of literature of all time, and for the life of me I can't ever remember a scene in which Sam and Frodo . . . uh, well -- you know what I mean.

If the media asks him about some of what he has written, and that is a very big if.......what can he possibly say?
It's perverted and there is no way to justify those passages.

I can't believe the number of people HERE taking up for Webb on this and bad mouthing Allen. Hell why don't you people send Webb a contribution. Poor Webb. Those mean old Republicans are picking on him.
Well its about time that some of these republicans pick up the Sh#t thats been thrown at them day after day, week after week and THROW IT BACK AT THEM!
Allen don't just throw it back at him, MAKE HIM EAT IT!

WEBB NOVEL: 'The man grabbed his young son in his arms, turned him upside down, and put the boy's penis in his mouth'...It's not in an e-mail. And, even if it were, ABC would never mention it. It's too obscene.

This is more graphic and worst stuff than Foley did. Granted it is fro ma novel but who in the hell with a normal mind would think some of these things and put them in a novel. I am damn gald this has been revealed. This is far worse than Foley in my mind. Foley never said eanything graphic like this, yet Webb dared to put it in a novel! Wow!
