Is this an admission that the Dims don't anticipate winning either the House or the Senate? Looks like Pelosi and crowd realize that a majority of voters don't support their far-left impeachment ideas.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, right.
They know its on everyone's minds and some internal poll probably told them to drop the issue.

What a LIAR. The democrats and their media have been living for the moment to impeach President Bush in every second of their lives since January 20 2001.

U.S. Democratic lawmakers won't seek to impeach President George W. Bush if they take control of Congress, Democratic leaders said Wednesday. Which, of course, means that's exactly what they will seek.

Don't believe it for one nanosecond. The hard core Loons of MoveOn.org will push them to do it...that's where their cash flow comes from.
...On the other hand, LET'S NOT EVEN GIVE THEM THE CHANCE TO TAKE BACK THE HOUSE...GET OUT AND VOTE FOLKS!

Opening bids, anyone?

Let 'em try. The resulting political bloodbath from such a stupid move would sap whatever support they have left (which isn't much.)

I see it as being two things:
1. Pelosi/Dean/Reid see impeachment as not being popular among independent voters and are removing this as an option so as to assure those voters that they are reasonable.
2. If Pelosi says that they are moving impeachment "off the table", that means that there were seriously considering it if they won control in both houses.
The latter is the first admission from any leadership figures that impeachment was a considered option. Sure the idea had been bandied about by people like John Conyers and Dennis Kucinich - but never by the leaders in either house. And that's a chance (as I see it it) from their previous claims that impeachment was never an option.

So if they truly believed President Bush was worthy of impeachment, couldn't this be construed as obstruction of justice?
